What did you do with your 4runner today?

*over the last 4 days...i installed a 3" lift, JBA upper control arms, timing belt, water pump, and a new radiator (my fault/clumsiness). we also have american racing wheels and 33" tires on order as we speak. its been a fun few days lol

Sure, it’s 68290-35031. Shouldn’t cost you more than $35.

Roll down your window, grab the old one and pull up to remove. I cleaned off the edges where it sits, then you just line up the new one and push it down into place.

Lots of info is in this thread but the parts link in it no longer works.

Checking the condition of this seal is probably a good idea for anyone who owns a 4th Gen given the potential for rust inside the tailgate.

Just an FYI, the weather strip/belt isn't designed to totally keep water out, even when these 4Rs were new water would of been able to get passed the weather strip and inside the hatch, for that very reason is why there are weep holes in the bottom of the hatch and also all of the doors, to allow the water to drain out about as fast as it get passed the weather strip, if you're having issues with water being retained in the hatch you need to check these weep holes to be sure they're not clogged and not letting the water drain out, open your hatch and you will see 2 plastic pieces, one on each side of the bottom of the hatch, these are the weep holes and when some small debris gets into the hatch it can clogged the tiny holes in the plastic inserts, and yes over time even dirt and small debris can get passed the weather strip as well.

This fact is also the reason when you pull the inside rear hatch cover/trim panel off you will see a sheet of plastic sealed to the hatch and over all the holes in the hatch, this is to keep the water evaporation from being transmitted into the inside of the vehicle.

Replaced upper and lower control arms, sway bar bushings, end links, tie rod ends and cv axles. Busy day but feels like a whole new truck up front. Just need an alignment and I’ll be golden!

Pulled out some short fence posts so I could install some taller posts. Just a little digging then the 4runner made short work of the rest. Whoever put these in, put a lot of concrete around them!

Went to start it up this morning, turned the key, and nothing happened for about 3-4 seconds and then it fired right up as usual. It didn’t have any issues starting up once it started cranking, but the cranking was delayed. I noticed it do this once last week as well but it didn’t replicate it again til this morning so I didn’t think too much of it. My battery is relatively new, and the firing sequence is quick and it doesn’t exhibit any other symptoms of a bad battery. I did a quick search and found people mention the starter contacts, but before I go down that road does anyone have any other ideas?

Where did you get this shift nob? Will it fit a 2018 4runner shifter?

Swapped out my LOW BEAMS from 6500k Xenon Depot HIDs for some 4300k XenonDepot HID's (non-phillips version). A huge thank you to Danny [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] for his help.

Didn't have a more recent photo of my 4runner with the 6500k, but here is a minor comparison.

I've only had them for a day and did notice quite the difference when driving the 4runner last night. Aesthetically I do miss the blue and yellow combo of the low beams and fogs, but I definitely get way more light with the 4300k.

Note: My fogs have remained the same (XenonDepot 3000k HIDs)
