What did you do with your 4runner today?

I finally got around to actually asking General Tire what their recommended PSI is when moving from the OE P265/65r17 to E-rated LT265/70r17, and they told me 36 front and rear. Lower than I was expecting given what I've heard other people say the answer was from other tire manufacturers. It's pretty crazy how many different, nonsensical answers you can find when trying to google anything related to tire pressure. And inevitably every. single. one. involves a discussion on how the max PSI printed on the tire is not the recommended PSI, as if that's the only PSI-related confusion there could ever possibly be.

I picked up the same rims, but put them on my older Tundra to upgrade from 16 wheels to 17 inch and get new tires at the same time. Looks great on the 4runner though.

It wasn’t today but Saturday. Had the new to me 2016 Trail rims installed. They look amazing on the 4th gens. Best rims money can buy IMO.

The best way I have ever heard to determine exactly how much air pressure to run in your tires on any certain vehicle and tire is to use some sidewalk chalk and rub a stripe across your tires threads, do this in a parking lot where you can drive in a straight line and no turning for a few hundred feet, look at the chalk stripe after and if the chalk has worn off all the way across your tire then you have the correct pressure, if just the sides are gone then you have a too low pressure, worn only in the middle too much pressure.

I saw a guy showing how he did this on Youtube and it makes sense because every vehicle and tire setup can be very different, even the same model vehicles can be different from another just like it because of carrying different weight loads, different tire brands, tire compounds, tire ratings, suspension lifts, etc., etc.!

I've done a chalk test, but that gives you the "ideal pressure" assuming your primary goal is perfectly even tread wear. I hit like 28 PSI and it still wasn't even perfectly even.

I did one and it said my psi should be about 32 but my mileage went to complete shite. I run my Ridge Grapplers at 40 and they wear evenly and I get decent mileage considering they're E rated tires.

Replaced both front hub assemblies and the front passenger ABS harness. Miraculously it cleared the ABS Christmas lights I have had on my dash for months!!

New (took off my old 15’) front plate and and replaced the V8 with a TRD grill emblem.
Unfortunately also took the runner to my mechanic who diagnosed the VSC OFF blinking light to be P0031
Oxygen A/F Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low (B1S1). Going to cost around $300 to replace the sensor. Anyone else had this issue before? Could it be caused by the cracked manifold?

My daughter was in a two car MVC in Nashville, and that was it. I just put a down payment on a 2019 White TRD off road premium, which I will pick up next week, following the paperwork.

My 2012 was an amazing little truck, went every with it, including 5' of unplowed snow, and even had it buried in mud over the running boards; never getting stuck.plus a ton of great memories!

Next time, order 2 sets of 2 tires , you can stack the discount by doing multiple orders of $400 or more. Got a total of $250 off by ordering 2 sets of 2 and ordering splitting an order of 2 spare tires with a friend

the promo was on ebay, and allowed $100 off over $400, max two orders. nobody else needed new tires, so i just ordered for myself. not sure how you got $250 off of two orders, but i couldn't do it anyway.

I did this order 2 + 2 to save double, selling the old 40k mile used 33" nitto exo grapplers to new 34" cooper STT pro - total cost offset after mount and balance was only $580 damage to me!

Three orders.

I ordered two sets of 2 tires. Friend needed a spare tire, so he ordered a spare for himself and my fifth tire and we split the $100 discount for $50 off each. Should be able to sell my old ones for ~$400-500, total cost for the 35s being only $300-400 or so all said and done.

Not gonna lie. I have creepily gone through your build thread to many times examining every little detail to learn and your truck looks awesome. I am personally just not a fan of bodylifts and would rather cut more than lifting the body up so much.

But yes 35s looks awesome on any 4Runner
