I think I've finalized the details to finish my build. The only thing I feel like I'll still want is on board water with a pressurizable tank for hot showers and maybe some sort of drawer type system. Won't be able to figure those out till next year.
I did install a Sprint booster and am extremely pleased with it. Wish I knew about them when I had a Camry.

That's probably way more practical than a 20 gallon permanently mounted water tank. I don't see a problem with carrying gallon jugs for water anyway

My battery stopped charging earlier this week, I picked up a new optima yellow top 35D for the car hoping that would solve things since my old battery was going on 7 years. Didn’t solve things, I was driving on the interstate and watching my battery voltage In the brand new one drop quickly so I got to the closest Toyota stealership at 6:30 last night and 7:30 this morning I was quoted $850 for a new alternator. I know I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere but I have finals coming up next week and can’t afford to gamble on my car...
I know that the 35D doesn’t have the best cca especially compared to the oem size, but I shouldn’t have any problems with it being in south Florida, right?
Over my winter break I may look into the big three upgrade I’ve seen mentioned here...

35w is more than ample. I'm running a 5000k kit.
And look up the squirrel finder mod if you find oncoming drivers flashing you.
at least its a sick truck in action in the pic lol!

I finally got the plastic clip that keeps popping out of the shifter bezel. Anyone know how to keep this thing in there besides gluing it? Mine keeps falling out.
Thanks for the head's up. I'm going to check that out. Hard to go wrong with Costco's liberal return policy.

Nutserts in Wilco
My license plate and light have been held onto my Wilco by two self-tapping screws which I've never trusted. So I bought a cheap Nutsert kit of Amazon and installed two Nutserts in the bumper today. Turned out great! (I'm going to get new hardware for the plate tomorrow, I just grabbed a couple of random M6 bolts for tonight.)

Your posts are always full of win. I was trying to figure out how to mount my plate to my Wilco. Nutserts make sense and is way less than the out of production Wilco mount. How did you wire up your light? I want to do both the light and the camera on the Wilco at the same time.

Congrats, that’s pretty low miles for an ‘05. How is the frame? You’re from CT, and I’m from MA, so I know what this climate does to these things! As for the cubby door, I’d look on eBay for that. There seems to be a lot of those interior bits available there.

Yesterday, I FINALLY got to do the front brakes to complete the brake job I started 2 months ago. This was because the front Powerstop calipers I ordered from Amazon (through Jegs) showed “in stock”, even though they weren’t, and as a result, I had to wait 2 months to get them!:bash: Normally I wouldn’t have minded, but my right front caliper was seized, and I couldn’t even turn the front tire when it was jacked up! Yesterday, I had to hammer the caliper off the rotor with a BFH. Much to my surprise my truck already had the 14WA calipers and larger rotors! Glad I bought parts to do the 5th gen swap because otherwise I would have been putting smaller brakes than what I already had on! The only real issue I had was the same one I had in the rear. I bought all new stainless hoses to install when I did the brakes, but could not get the steel lines to detach without either rounding the flare nuts, or snapping them off completely. I soaked them in PB blaster, but it was to no avail. Since it was already getting dark, and was supposed to rain all day today, I didn’t want to complicate the job by shearing off the flare nuts, and then having to replace hardlines too! Anyone else have this issue? If so, what did you do? I had a nice Snap On flare nut wrench so it had plenty of grip, like I said, I pushed to where it was going to possibly snap, or at the very least, complete round off the hex.
