What did you do with your 4runner today?

Your posts are always full of win. I was trying to figure out how to mount my plate to my Wilco. Nutserts make sense and is way less than the out of production Wilco mount. How did you wire up your light? I want to do both the light and the camera on the Wilco at the same time.

Thank you for the compliment! :tea: The plate light is a trailer light which is plugged into the trailer socket. It's actually so bright I had to put window tint on it. My wife was driving behind me a couple of weeks ago and said it was like a little laser. I (kind of) feel bad for the people who drove behind me before I tinted it.

Measured the cupholder dimensions today and mocked up a 3d print for a blank cover panel. Currently waiting on it from shapeways. Plan on buying 2 cupholder inserts (either generic or Toyota) and drilling 2 holes to size to place the inserts.

I saw another member was printing some or working on such a thing at one time but dissapeared for a bit.

If the panel I have printed fits well enough I'll at least post up the 3d print file on thingiverse so others can download and have it printed.

Trying to understand what problem you are trying to solve? Is it to have smaller holders? I suppose making them deeper somehow would be beneficial for stability. Yeah essentially giving myself an actual circular cup holder rather than some semi-box shaped crap. Nalgenes fit perfectly, you are right, but anything else and they suck. Particularly canned drinks, like I had a red bull sitting in one and took a right turn and nearly lost it.

I don’t usually carry Nalgenes or larger bottles with me so something that fits a standard soda bottle size works better for my purposes.

I like my 2013 Taco cup holders much better as they are the rubber inserts that work great for smaller bottles when in place, and work great for nalgenes when you remove the inserts. So I’m just trying to achieve the same here.

Finally pulled my 2018 Trail Edition wheels out of the garage and slapped on a set of 275/70R17 BFG KO2's.

Bought 2 1x5way MAF Mass Air Flow sensor Connector plugs off eBay. Yes, I previously broke the tab off the original one...but none broke off the coil connectors...just my luck.

Just to elaborate a bit speaking of replacing connector ends if anyone needs assistance, buy the ones without wires and you can leave the original harness intact. You'll just be backing out the wire ends.

On coil connectors I have studied and came up with this idea; to make it easier to back out the wire ends,
the inner oval cut at both side edges,
(a small nail clippers-shaped like a wire cutters works for me)
now with a pointed pick, like a wire tester shown here;

push in-between 2 terminals and
the 2 wires should pull out the back of the connector
when pried apart far enough to disengage the tab
repeat as necessary

Now I also thought a snap ring pliers may also do this by prying apart the plastic connector. Of course, being it's being replaced it can be broken any way you want just don't wreck the wire ends if you can help it. I also thought of using a dremel tool here, being against the fire wall of a Sienna makes one get creative...

Reason I posted all this is they are hard to get out one at a time just trying to push up on the tab unless you have the perfect fit tool, which isn't in the set I own even though it say's it is...

Yeah I built it. Its not perfect. Was in a serious hurry. It will do the job tho. Been wanting to get my winch installed. I got it ll painted so I will post Pic once I get winch in.

Awesome. If it does what you want it to, then it’s perfect. Weld imperfections, or whatever can be filled/smoothed to make it more aesthetically pleasing if that’s what you were referring to.

Installed my powder coated aluminum skid and filler bought recently in the RCI group buy. Fit and finish is fantastic! The only issue I had, and didn’t know about until trying to install was that one rear bolt was snapped in a mounting hole by a previous owner, and the rest of the holes were rusted, and needed to be chased with a tap. I didn’t know any of this because my truck never had the original plate to begin with. I’m assuming because of rust they took it off. Ended up drilling out the broken on, and re-tapping the hole, and all is well now. I also added anti-seize to all of the new hardware so hopefully everything will come apart easily from now on for service. I tried to change the oil on the front diff before the install, but the drain is too corroded/frozen to come out without chiseling, so I decided to save that for another day once I have replacement plugs in hand. The fill plug loosened pretty easy, but I still didn’t want to chance messing up the plug just in case. What a-hole thought using an Allen wrench for those plugs was a great idea?:ybrick:

For those looking for storage options, 3 Plano medium size sportsman's boxes fit perfectly like they were made for this truck.

They are pretty rugged and can handle things being stacked on them. I haven't broken one yet and they are only like 25 bucks.
