well, that didnt last long. p0420 and 430 came back on. gonna try cat cleaner and if that doesnt work Ill do the o2 spacer/defouler. anyone know what the standard cat cleaner is? catacleanse?

Newer Trail, they look nice on a 4th gen.
Finished my rear 5100 XREAS swap this weekend, along with new Napa calipers, pads, and coated rotors. What a huge improvement.

Anyone have issues with their HVAC making a buzzing sound on only certain modes?
I started having an annoying buzzing sound when the mode is on to blow straight at the driver/passenger...

Installed knock off sprint booster from aliexpress. Now I have to find a setting to make it just right. In sport mode, pedal is way too sensitive.

Those are just stock wheels. I noticed that on the Toyota web site they do come with the TRD models ( except the Pro). At my local dealership, I see them on all the 5th Gens except the limited and TRD Pro 4RUNNERS.
I've just heard them called "Trail" wheels on here. Maybe there was a "Trail" model designation previously.
Just a quick look on the Toyota website, they're standard on the TRD Off-Road and TRD Premium. The SR5, Limited and TRD Pro have different wheels. They're really leveraging that "TRD" moniker.
I still need to get new lug nuts for mine. I was looking at DP Accessories. $66 on Amazon for black.

They are TRD wheels, TRD Off Road to be specific. They are not TRD Pro wheels is what I suspect you meant.

Shade and rims
Went and bit the bullet on a Batwing awning to enhance the shade my old Yakima awning gives. Now I'll have shade on the left, shade on the right, and shade back where the party is... Photos maybe to come this weekend depending on weather...
Oh also bought a set of OEM rims off a '16 T4R to mount my BFGs on, so I can keep my winter rubber mounted on my old rims.
Maybe I'll finally get around to installing the LED interior upgrade kit this weekend...

Yep.
I put in a new cabin filter probably upside down or backwards so it acts like a reed and shakes a little bit every once in a while. I could fix it in 5 minutes but I always forget.

This was my task for today, it was much easier than I thought it would be. I thought about putting it on the dash but prefer the screen out of the way. I removed the door to the useless bottom storage cubby which made for some extra space. I think I may add a couple USB ports to the right of the screen . I'll hide the wire better at some point.

Noticed my driver side front cv boot was torn slightly, no grease on the vehicle though

My girlfriend was planning to take my rig on a several hundred mile round trip to see some family on Tuesday, do I need to try to get that cv replaced before she leaves?

in a likelihood it will probably be ok as long as its not loose or noisy, but with no grease anywhere who knows how long its been like that. best to take care of it if you can especially since its not you that will be driving it

I found some really vague videos on what people intended to do, already did or didn't do, but none on directly addressing a tire rub situation directly. So out came the cutters and the camera.

I needed tires, so I got these 5th gen wheels/tires from my local dealer from the sales manager. You know how they have lifted trucks in the showroom? Well, I walked into the sales office and asked the manager if I could buy the factory wheels and tires from one of those tricked out trucks. He had a few sets "in the back", even had the shop swap my TPMS sensors in. But I saved a good chunk of change. I paid way less than what the tires would have cost me at a shop. And I kinda think i like how they look.

They do come with the TRD Off Road and I wouldn’t call them TRD wheels. Those wheels also came with the SR5 as far back as 2015. My local dealership has them on most of the 2018 and 2019 models. ( except for the limited and Pro) Toyota likes to used parts that they have on hand. A good example is the new Pro roof rack which is the same as the FJ cruiser.

Mine was making all sorts of noises so I replaced the blower fan motor. Took all of 10 minutes and solved all of the noises. I didn't cheap out on the non-OEM ones because the reviews were hit or miss in terms of noise levels and air output. Also it was driving me up a ****ing wall so I justified it.
