What did you do with your 4runner today?

Do you know what size resistor I should get? I have seen several but with different amounts of resistance. :shrug:

I'd just do a 6-ohm resistor on either side (should just need one for left and one for right to cover front and rear).

not quite, but kind of.

This is the toyota harness: Toyota part # 82241-35010

it's used on the GX470's, and basically is a 12 to 8 pin flasher adapter. unfortunately those missing pins are for your DRLs

I heard about the harness from here: LED hyperflash fix for DRL equipped 4Runners

The smarttap part is: SmartTap CF18 (LM449)

It's about $60 on amazon, and that price is for the strobe/tap signal features as well as a hyperflash fix/LED support. you could also use an 8pin LED flasher if all you want is normal signals again with your LED bulbs.

If you can get to the old flasher, you can complete this mod. remove 12pin flasher, install harness, install 8pin flasher to the other end of the harness. tie up/cable manage to keep it from rattling, and you're done.

Didn't to it today, but I did just switch out all my interior lights for led's from 404 Not Found a difference!

I'm only 8 years behind you. Didn't do the visor vanity lights as the ones I ordered do not fit. Everywhere online seems to think that you need 31mm festoon bulbs but they're just too fat. Not sure when this changed as some of the older write-ups clearly state 29mm by 6mm. So I just ordered some that Amazon says do not fit my 2003 Limited. They should be here Wednesday, so I'll find out then.

Greased my driveshaft the proper amount, no more clunk!

Also performed the 12v constant mod, glad to see this only does the accessory power and not the cigarette lighter outlet in the smokers kit. This lessens the risk that I run the battery down on the truck from leaving something plugged in. I have it accessible when I need it, but don't regularly use the accessory power outlet unless I have more than 2 things I need plugged in.

Yesterday, actually...

We dove under the new-to-us 2004 4Runner (my son's). Changed differential and transfer case oil, lubed the drive shafts and U-joints, changed motor oil and filter, new air filters, ran a tap through the skid plate nuts and replaced skid plate bolts, cleaned up factory skids.

We have some bad rust on the engine skid that will require patching. This truck is probably not going to see much off-road use (2nd gen does that sort of fun for us) so for now, the factory skids are good enough.

I think I like the fourth gen better than my fifth...

And I had an alternator and belt a few weeks ago. Was researching pulleys when it went. Rough few weeks.

Dropped it off at a local shop for new rear bearings on both sides. After that I get to replace the rotors and the ABS sensors due to oil contamination.

Finally replaced the cup holder light bulb. First time they’ve worked since I purchased the truck two years ago.

Check out the new front end look. New headlight with LED Halos, LED light bar in grille. And then to butch it up more, installed a bull bar, by Steel Craft.

Removed the awful blue light from my charger port.

Night vision is way better now that there isn't a harsh blue light shining in my right eye.

Made the drive down to Demello Off-Road today since my front bumper was ready!! 15 weeks of waiting but damn it’s so beautiful! I also had them install a pair of Baja design Squadrons sports and a Smittybilt X2O winch. Today was definitely a good day!

Had lower steering column assembly replaced, exhaust welded on and inspection stick (MA, sux) went well. Got new pads rotors and a rebuilt front caliper too. Second time caliper seized, last time was rear...
