What did you do with your 4runner today?

Installed some USB ports on the dash. Plugged one into the back of the head unit for Android Auto, plugged the other into a USB charger that's plugged into a lighter plug under the dash.

Can you link which usb plug you used for this install?

Meant to mention that when test driving my front wheel bearing install, the brake pedal was soft when I backed out of the garage but then was okay. The truck pulled left on braking at first (right side bearing was the one I had just replaced) but that also returned to normal in the course of the 7-mile drive at various speeds. Seems fine now. Thoughts, concerns, comments?

If it's all back to normal, I wouldn't worry about it. But it doesn't hurt to bleed the system if you haven't done it in awhile, some fresh brake fluid is always nice.

One of your brake pads might've gotten a bit loose and needed to reseat itself. I know motorcycles with fixed piston calipers (like what our 4Runners have) will do this.

As far as the alignment, I'd get it checked. If it was aligned before with a bad bearing, then now it's gonna be off a good bit. My alignment shop wouldn't give me an alignment until I fixed my bearing. They said I'd just need another one as soon as the bearing was done.

As mentioned one of the pistons could of not been all the way out to allow even pressure to both pads.

If you haven't replaced the rubber brake lines they could also be going bad from deteriorating on the inside and causing a bit of blockage, old brake lines can cause erratic braking issues and most never think of this causing the issues they're having.

Used slave labor to clean it up yesterday, then of course it rained later that day.

PS, anyone else wish they could dress like a 4 year old? Winter boots, sundress and a Minnie Mouse ball cap lol. It was at least 90 degrees out for reference.

What I did yesterday...

After installing JBA upper control arms on my 2003 Ltd two weeks ago, the absence of the original fender liners was especially pronounced. Made a set yesterday from tool drawer liner material using templates found on the forum. One hour of time and $7 invested.

Got a bunch of goodies in the mail today. Toyota oil filters and wrench adapter to make removal easier. Oil for an oil change to finally install my Fumoto. Moog outer tie rod ends to replace both mine as I noticed they are done when I swapped in my Icon lift the other day, you can move the ball joint easily by hand, no resistance. Recommended paint for a touch up on one of my matte gunmetal Ray 10's that I nicked pretty good rotating the tires the other day. Last but not least, Total Chaos spindle gussets! This should keep me busy for a little while.

This was recommended by Vince from SCS for small nicks and touch ups. I have yet to try it but figure he’s tried a few and arrived at this as the closest. I got it on amazon BTW.

A possibility, yes. A fluid exchange, Speed Bleeders, and new brake lines are on my list.

Thanks Montijo. The tinted clear turned out lighter than I expected. I was thinking it would be closer to matching my sliders/rims but I still love it!

I was lazy when I installed the coil conversion and lift and just installed the airlift bags in the springs. Going camping this weekend and about to load up, so figured I'd better stop slacking and got the lines hooked up this morning.
