What did you do with your 4runner today?

Replaced my wrecked CV joints, replaced the seals and drained and refilled the diff. 260,000 miles and it rides so quiet now.
For reference, the old axle boot in this photo, I didn’t cut that away, that’s all that was left when I took it out.

Mine was the same way when I got it. At least it came with the axles waiting in a box. In hindsight, I should have replaced the seals like you did as now one side leaks a bit.

I took out the crappy aftermarket stereo someone installed and put a stocker back in. I'm pumped because I can play tapes again! Plus it was only $15 on ebay

I also checked the diff oil, the air filter(both looked great), and changed the oil/filter.

My tailgate lock was frozen up so I ended up having to take it to a locksmith to work some magic. I can now roll my window up and down again from the tailgate. I'm pleasantly surprised so far in how easy this thing is to work on.

Hi Pedro, Sparky has this right. With the headlights on, the text on the push button 'dials' should be back lit. The little arrow indicator lights are independent of the back light on the buttons. Hope this helps.

Well, ordered the bulbs, and took everything out today, replaced the bulbs that I see that illuminate the dials, but only the arrows light up. Couldn't figure out what bulbs there might be to illuminate the dials themselves.

Swapped out the chrome grill for a new OEM Limited trim piece. Looks much better imo.

Planned on replacing the ignition switch cylinder.

It's worn to the point that the key can be removed in the Acc position. I know it's not the key as all keys will do this. If someone (me) is paying attention and doesn't get the key in the off position b4 removing the key, the result is a dead battery the next morning.

Costs next to nothing, can of spray paint and an afternoon. But I get you, makes sense.

Yup, GGM. I bought it new from TRDshop.com for about $190 shipped which was the best price I found online. They were on backorder for 2-3 weeks but well worth the wait for a new OEM piece.

You could wrap it or have it wrapped to color match. Mine is a wrapped chrome grill. You can't even tell.

Don't mind the broken window. It's on order... I came out from shopping and found it busted. Nothing was stolen but **** that jerk who broke it. I think I probably thwarted the theft.

Found the cause of my a/c fan motor rumble/growl. Can't say I was expecting this:

The only explanation that makes sense is that it got in and was sitting atop the cabin filter, then fell in when I last changed the filter. Surprised I didn't hear it fall in but I don't know how else it got in there.

Also had some new keys made. Found some OEM blanks and a new remote online. I asked my local dealer how much it was to have a new key made, they say around $100 for the key and around $100 to program it. Then $125 for the remote and $100 to program the remote.

I purchased two keys and one remote online for less then $50, then had a local locksmith (very well known locally) cut the blanks I purchased. He said my original key was VERY warn. He had to look at the key figure out where the peaks and valleys were and he nailed it. Cost me $10 to have two keys cut which put me all in around $60. Then thanks to this website and the TubeofYou I was able to figure out how to program the remote and keys myself. I now have three keys and two remotes. To purchase two keys and a remote at my local dealer and have them programmed would have been over $600. I think I made out pretty well

I’m not sure what you mean by replacing the harness. I replaced just the bulbs in the climate control and all other controls.

It wasn't too terribly expensive. Biggest pain was sourcing how many bulbs you need and what vendor has the ones that will work for this application.
