What did you do with your 4runner today?

Sorry for the slow response, I did not check this thread lately.
1. I bought a 30" (I believe that was the length) piece of pre-made LED strip (5000K) and on the actual strip, it has markings where you can cut it to make smaller strips. It has small points where you cut that you can solder wire on, if that makes sense. I was kinda confused until I actually had the LED strip in my hands.
Then I bought some small, 20-22 ga wire to solder on the leads for each individual strip. I also got the small rubber caps that you silicone on the ends to seal it from water/dirt. I ended up with 4 separate LED strips - 1 for under each door. Wire leads were a bit long but easy to zip tie up to hide and still connect, I think I had the leads around 12-18" each, which is more than enough.
2. I didn't take any pics while I was installing or soldering, but can take some now if you'd still like them. I tried to glue and double sided tape the strips onto the undercarriage, however they would not hold longer than a day. So I did some looking around under there and saw small holes from the running boards/plastic rivet type pieces. If you get under and look where you'd place the LED strip, you can see what I am referring to - hopefully, ha.

I used the 3M "quick connect" splicers to "cut" into the pos/neg wires on each of the running board lights. They come on/off on some sort of a dimmer when you lock/unlock the truck. The LED strips look pretty cool when you lock/unlock since they also dim when turning on and off. Very cool mod and well worth the time for the look and functionality.

Where do you drive around? Last time I was in tahoe I tried to hit some trails on the map but it was all gated up for the season. If you could point me to a couple of casual offroad spots it would help me find some activity for when I'm not on the slopes.
Those pics were taken on the way to and on Bear valley loop, about 15 miles north of Truckee off of 89. I like the trails around our 3 reservoirs: Bocs, Prosser and Stampede. A lot of fire roads but plenty of side trails with some more "challenging" stuff, nothing serious. Im by myself most the time. At this time last year you could have driven over the gates with all the snow we had but this year its still mud.
I took a little drive around Boca and noticed that the Boca hill trail gate was open and ventured up a little. Then went over to prosser and did some flexing in the snow. I saw alot of open gates, even one out of the ground. Here are some pics from today:

Bullet holes (or shotgun) through those signs......lovely! haha, must be the rednecks on the loose or out in the wooded areas. See that all the time in the small towns in Florida.

On the fire road down to the river near my house, there's a left curve sign with about 4 rounds of buckshot through it, some funny stuff... Casper, just curious if yours is 2 or 4wd, great ride with the Firestones and OME:boink: But on topic, I topped off the never-ending-money-tank and hauled some furniture to and fro Hobby Lobby for my mom:fro:

I finally got around to changing the oil. It was slightly overfilled and had a driveworks filter. Changed the spark plus still had the originals I am assuming denso on one side ngk on the other. I also changed the air filter which was nasty. I bought this truck 2 weeks ago from a local Toyota dealer with 69k miles, it was detailed up nice but you would think they would have serviced it before putting it up for sale.

I've seen it out near Freeport/Destin area, Perry, Steinhatchee, etc. Pretty funny, it's always in the "back-road" areas it seems.

You'd think they'd check and change the simple things like the intake filter, but that would cost them at least $10, and the way they probably see it, $10 saved is $10 earned. Cheap bas****s

yeah I agree. I am supposed to get another key this week because I've asked for one since the day I bought it. I think today was the 4th call to the salesman and he said to call back this week and they will get the key for me. I think I might take the old plugs and air filter with me and give it to them haha.

That's what I would do, and make them compensate you for those as well. They totally should have changed out a simple filter. Sounds like they're trying to give you the shaft. Good luck.

Nothing major...installing a body lift and upgrading sway bar bushings this week. I'm also in the planning stages for a bunch of projects that I have floating around in my head so I removed parts to take measurements so I can mock up prototypes.
