What did you do with your classic T4R today?

I spend a couple hours pulling out the seatbelts in my 85, cleaning them, and then reinstalling them. I've got a laundry list of things to take care of.

Last Sat i resurrected my new-to-me '86 from a 6 month coma due to a dead battery and bad clutch slave cyl.
It started on the first turn and is ready to live again on the streets and beaches near Boston.

Just got the plates for it yesterday! Time to drive!

Finally got the sliders welded in. So stoked. Looks killer. Rustoleum truck Bedliner is on them. Turned out about as grippy as skate board grip tape which is perfect for me.

Next is to mess with the front mud flaps to see if I can get them to fit and see how they look. But for today I think I'm set.

Didn't pass DEQ so put in new air filter.... Previous owner maybe didn't realize this needed to be replaced... ever. Geez, look at that thing!!

Anyhow, my CO was actually worse than before! Well off to the next stage. Going to replace cat and O2 sensor.

Driving home today something decides to start making very loud noises in my engine compartment. Sounded like a belt broke and was flopping around inside. Pull over and start looking around. Can't see any visible damage.
Start it back up to find noise. Turns out the radiator fan broke completely off the fan clutch. So the fan clutch was spinning around inside the middle of the fan.

I use my Dango Wallet multi tool to unbolt and remove the shroud and pull out the shroud and the fan. I drove it home a few more miles with no fan, no biggie. I will replace the fan clutch, fan and radiator shroud. Not sure if completely fan clutch fault but seems easy enough to bolt a new one on.

Lesson learned.... keep tools in a truck that is almost 30 years old...

Good news:
my brother got me a pair of dirty and faded 30 years old power mirrors for my 4R, with the pigtails and the dashboard switch.

Bad news:
the dahsboard harness of my 4R doesn't have the power mirror switch connector, I have to find out how to do it.

Today with my 4R... We've only been together about 4 months and I keep finding secrets about her previous relationships...like one of her previous partners conpletely butchered most of the wiring going to the power windows and locks...and made it impossible to get her front passenger door off without cutting an and splicing wiring back. Luckily she is with somebody that had higher standards now. So instead of taking the door of we just chilled and had a brew while playing with her new Bluetooth head unit. Lol i played with her head...unit. I feel like I'll be on this thread quite a bit with all the work that she needs done.

She hauled my kayak, me, supplies and gear to Utah for volunteer clean-up on Lake Powell (Fake lake real fun)

VOLUNTEERS LIVE AND TRAVEL ON HOUSE-BOAT FOR 5 TO 7 DAYS ...

... AND CLEAN UP THE INLETS AND SLOT CANYONS...

...WE WENT DEEP INTO THE SLOT CANYONS UNTIL WE COULD GO NO FARTHER...

EXPLORING WEATHERHILL CANYON AFTER CLOCKING OUT OF VOLUNTEER WORK

LOADING UP AFTER 7 DAYS OF VOLUNTEER TRASH PICKUP WORK ON LAKE POWELL

HARD RAIN IN FORECAST SO I DID NOT EXPLORE THE SLOT CANYONS ANYMORE, AND HEADED HOME. WILL COME BACK.

Overall the lake looks clean. Various trash were found. Some large steel mooring cables that are already rusting; parts of boat fires like alternator, burnt wiring and radio; plastics that were intentionally or accidentally dropped into the water; and a collection of floatation toys...
