What did you do with your classic T4R today?

Thanks Guys I'm really happy with it so far!

So brake lights are working, new bulbs (simple thankfully). The backup lights are actually working but the switch is dead in the trans. I jumped the harness going into the switch and put it on accessory and the lights lit up so I ordered a new air filter and reverse switch from TPD.

Still no idea on the wiper and rear defroster fuses blowing instantly. I pulled the rear end apart and all the wires look good, I did pull the trailer harness into the cabin and tucked it away, but I can't find a short or anything anywhere. I pulled the plastics off the steering wheel and I didn't see anything visibly wrong with the switch.

I have a voltmeter but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for to determine where the short is, anyone have some tips?

I'm also deciding if I want to swap tires with my cherokee. It has some brand new 31x10.5x15 Falken Wildpeak AT3W that have been fantastic so far. It currently has 31x105.15 Hankook Dynapros with some decent tread left.

Thanks!

Put some more pin stripes on and found some puddles

I took it out and got it dirty. It did really well honestly, never had to put it in 4wd even climbing up some snowy hills. The heat stopped working though, I think the switch went. I could hit it clicking the blower on and off a few times and then it just quit working altogether.

Some Pictures:
I had pictures but they were huge apparently

I need to flush the trans, from what I've read the R150F (I have a 5sp) can take GL4 or GL5? Hoping to get it to shift a little smoother in and out of gear. Right now I have to put it in neutral, let the clutch out and put it back in to get it to slide into first.

Took the grill off to change the headlights and decided to paint it flat black. I think it looks much better. Pics of before and after.

Spent the entire weekend chasing my tail with a short in wiring harness for the front wiper. It's shorting somewhere and I can't find it so I called my buddy who works for harley and he's oging to come up and hopefully help me track this short down.

Things I did actually fix this weekend:
Blower, I spent over 100$ on parts and it turned out to be a bad relay. I am getting water behind my dash because of a hole in the inner fender for the power antenna. I do not have inner fender lining there so the hole coming into the the truck is just open. I'm going to temporarily tape it shut but since my power antenna is missing the entire motor setup, the older, etc etc it doesn't work at all anyway. Added to my todo list
Replaced the reverse switch in the trans and my reverse lights work now.

Last Remaining Electrical issue to figure out since I bought it about a week and a half ago is the front wiper short

Other things I need to fix:
Both diffs are leaking
Valve Cover gaskets are leaking

Then I can actually start doing some fun things like new shocks/springs to start.

Hope everyone had a safe St. Patrick's day!

I like that, did it come with the cup holders there? Did you have rear heat?

Thanks!

Yep! It has pre-drilled holes to attach rear cupholders too. Yea, I had the rear heat and it was somewhat frustrating to remove, but it really took zero automotive knowledge to do. It was just finding the positioning to take off the hose clamps on both sides. After those were rerouted and removed, it was fairly simple. I just bent the rear heater core mounts flat(they come stock at a downward angle), drilled holes, and used the stock bolts to attach it.

Nice, I really like having rear heat driving up skiing (or well the passengers back there do haha).

So after spending all day Sunday pouring over wiring diagrams trying to determine the full functionality of the wiper switch I think we have it sorted.

There's a lot more than just the wipers that run through that board that has the intermittent relay on it and all the diodes your wiper stalk hits at different locations. The relay for the intermittent wipers works, we attached an LED to it and watched it blink without popping the fuse so it seems like the diodes on the actual switch are bad.

I went ahead and ordered a used one off ebay for 50$ instead of the insane amount parts stores are charging for new switches (300-600$). Hopefully that fixes it.

Removed the lower part of the front bumper and hammered the pinch welds to fit the 33s stock height. Now just waiting on factory rear coils to bring the back end up.

I swept the glass of my street and vacuumed my Entire interior of glass shards. Who knew smashing a window would put glass in every crevice of the interior. And the guy that threw a brick through my window, there is a special place down under for you.

I recieved my used Wiper switch last week and finally went to putting it in today. There were a couple issues with the replacement. Mainly it was cracked in one place and there was sand in it from sitting so it didn't move smoothly.

I decided to take it apart and just switch the wiper stalk/board and remove the old pins and put the new harness into my existing connector.

Process wasn't too bad minus having to take the steering wheel apart (get it lined up right when you put it back on!).

So I have wipers now but they are stopping in the middle of the windshield, I believe I connected the motor to the arm that controls the wipers in the cowl in the wrong part of the stroke. It's raining here right now so no chance to mess with it but at least it works without blowing a fuse!

The pins on the harness have little clips inside that you can use a tiny flathead screwdriver to pop open and pull the pin out, pretty simple. I took pictures of the connector before I removed anything to make sure I had a reference for what went where.

On to pictures

Short Video of how the wipers currently work on intermittent setting. You can see where they stop in the middle of the windshield:

So, follow up to my post above. I was able to get the wipers working correctly.

Apparenly, when I pulled the motor initially i had to get it out far enough to get the bolt off, which moved the wipers and I didn't notice. So when I re-attached the motor it was in the wrong part of the stroke. I unscrewed the bolt enough to remove the wiper from the splined output shaft on the wiper motor, rotated the wipers to the correct rest position, and re-attached them.

All the electrical issues that I bought the truck with are now fixed!!

Now on to the fluids and everything that's leaking and making sounds. But first, I am going to enjoy driving it with everything working.
