What did you Plasti Dip on your 5th gen?

Hey everyone, please show off your plasti dips on your 5th gen 4Runners. Emblems, bumpers, interiors, etc.

I'm looking at plasti dipping the chrome emblems on my 4Runner soon here, and was curious what everyone else has done with theirs!

I'm looking at doing the steering wheel emblem in red to match the red stitched leather. Pics will follow once I get some time to do it, but I'm looking for ideas as well.

EDIT: took a drive to the two local auto parts stores.. Couldn't find a silver to match the Magnetic Grey or the silver dash knobs. Does anyone have an idea what color name will match these the best? Blasted steel and Graphite were the closest I could find if those names mean anything to anyone they are duplicolor's and they did not match

I plastidipped (technically I used peelcoat) my roof rails.

I generally abhor plasti dip. It doesn't hold up well to mechanical action (or washing).

However, the roof rails are a perfect candidate for them. I didn't want to paint them because paint is more permanent and I wanted the ability to peel it off if I screwed up. The rails aren't getting a lot of use from me (I'm not an overlander) so I don't have to worry about them getting worn or looking like crap with the coating.

I wanted them black because it looks better on my vehicle. I didn't want to spend the money on powdercoating the roof rails, when I could achieve what I wanted for a fraction of the cost.

Everything else that I've blacked out (wheels, front and rear fascia, emblems) is all the real McCoy. Wheels are factory painted, fascias are OEM factory paint and the emblems have poly removable covers.

Plasti dip has it's place, it's even great to "test" out and see what something would look like before applying something more permanent like paint or powder coat (or an OEM replacement in a different color).

Didn’t like the small painted black strip on rear bumper (which looks like it’s just waiting for scratches) or the silver. Now both are covered. Will probably end up wrapping this later, but until I find the time for that - the rattle can works.

Decided to try out some color on the stock wheels. Have had it on for about 6 months now and haven't had any need to touch it up!

Hey Everyone, So I was able to find a plasti dip that matched pretty close to tha magnetic gray. I've read a lot of your positive and negative feedback about plasti-dip. I've painted a lot in the past, but this is the first time I've used plasti dip.

I wasn't super fond of the product itself and found it pretty lacking and hopefully it holds up longer than the "6 months" the can said. I was interested in this due to the fact that I've rear a lot about the hassle of removing the rear emblems and letters, and the only overlays are in black - if this plasti dip wears off I'm going to buy the overlay and paint them with a real matching paint. However, Posted are some picture of my final products with the front emblems, rear emblems and 4runner with a graphite plasti dip This will probably be the first and last time with this product as like i said, I wasn't to thrilled with it.

That's what I liked most when i looked into this, the non permanent being the biggest pro and being able to get different colors.

The two big things I wasn't happy about was that even after 6 coats (maybe I went to light) when I started peeling the excess it would continually rip going around the letters and in the corners of the emblems - which didn't ruin anything, but made it more time consuming using a toothpick and a tiny flathead screw driver to get in and get the excess plasti out and make it clean.

Second, which this could just be this particular one; The Plasti I got had a metallic flake to it, but when it came time to peel the plasti off those flakes would NOT come off with the plasti dip itself and remained behind on the black trim. If it doesn't weather off I will have to go back with goo gone and a q tip to get the flakes off - it gave me a cheap product feel

This is nitpicking, but I had to keep cleaning the nozzle of the can after every coat because it would constantly get build up and wouldn't have a consistent spray. Which I'm assuming because it's a rubber like compound?
