What do y'all think-Plastidip smoke

Hey guys, I had some of this lying around from a project a while back and figured I would see how it looked on the T4R. I didn't do a pro job just sprayed it on to see what I thought about it. If I like it Ill remove the wheels and make everything even since right now theres a couple high spots.

Im gonna give it a couple days to see what I think. I kinda like it, its growing on me right now lol. It kinda just looks dirty so maybe another coat or so to make them look intentionally "smoked". Heres the before and after pics let me know what y'all think:

I can't really tell because the pictures kind of suck, lol, but it seems like the finish you laid down is still a bit uneven and too thin in some spots? I think that might be attributing to the "dirty" look. IMO it's definitely an improvement over the bare chrome, but perhaps a few more layers might help make the smoked look more smooth and even...I say keep at it and give her a few more coats, I bet it will turn out real nice

Looks like you have dirty wheels from brake dust and it's blotchy looking. It's your truck though, if you like it that's all that matters.

I was re-arranging the garage and remembered I had this stuff so I just did a quick spray to see how it would turn out. I think it could use more coats and definitely make it even but its hard to do while the wheels are on the truck. I wanted to see a "preview" before I did all the work to take the wheels off to see if I would like it or not lol. Basically just for shits and giggles

Im thinking Im going to remove it but Ill give it a day or so to see if it grows on me

Looks cool and has potential. I would think if you went a lil bit darker it would look similar to "knight chrome". :thumb3:

I like it. The less chrome on newer cars, the better.

I did the same thing to my grille, (see build thread) but I had to peel it off cause it was a little spotty.

The smoke is really hard to get even, and it's kinda hard to remove also... Although paint thinner does a pretty good job.

I've seen cooper but not bronze. Where are you getting the bronze from?

update*** I threw a few more coats on, starting to look more gun metal ish. I think its looking pretty good so maybe in the next week or two Ill take the wheels off and do a more permanent plastidip job. What do y'all think with a few more coats?

It might help if you get the can up to a warmer temp, and keep shaking the can a little more and frequently. I like the color, think it gives a different apperance to keep you different than others.

I like the chrome myself, but if you are wanting a change the more coats picture looks much better. I've always liked the color combo of a black vehicle with gunmetal wheels.

I dig it! You're right - it just needed some more coats to start looking really good!
