What do you hate about your T4R?

Definitely. I just learned that I've spent well over $1,000 in the 8K miles I've driven the truck in the last year alone. JUST IN FUEL!

Otherwise, I love my rig.
 
Whoever said the rear windsheilds whipers were a pain to find replacesments.....AGREED....

My brakes work great to me, but never really compared them to anything else
Heat works great
AC works great
Sunroof has never leaked

I guess I'm lucky? Not sure if it matters but mine was made in Japan according to the factory info on the door....304K and running strong. Exhaust work is next on list
 
I had no issue with the rear wiper. Got mine from the dealer (wholesale price) $7 + change and was easy. 2 screws and done. Easier than the from I think.

I have the same exhaust smell. I forgot to mention that one. And its like you said, not exactly a rotten egg smell. To me is smells more like burning rubber wih a hint of rotten eggs.

Its the cat converter by the way
 
door jams all dented up from PO slamming seatbelts clips in doors due to slow retracting belts! I got it home and saw that and thought someone had tried to break in it!!
 
Not a hater... But...

Things I hate:
Shrinking door seals
Not very rust resistant undercarriage

Things I live with because I love my 4Runner:
Cabin not as isolated as newer toyotas. Impacts really jar the cabin
Rear brakes will NOT self adjust no matter what I try. I run the adjuster star up as necessary every tire rotation.
Not much headroom with sunroof
Power was ok for it's day, not so much now
Small door openings. Bump my head often

Now I know it's not just mine. My wife's XTrail does that too. I wasn't sure about it.
 
When im looking at it

from this one angle where im about 10 to 15' away, facing it at an angle between the front and the driver side of it. It looks so ****ing LAME

Did you check the 02 sensor? make sure its plugged in and wired correctly? Try borrowing a friends and see if the CE light goes away. Clean the MAF? Check all hoses/intake is all hooked up properly.

Apparently youre tall, and thats your own fault. If you were 5'4" like me headroom wouldnt be an issue. I hate tall people :shrug:

Tall people are cool! :lol: I'm 6'2" And have no problem with head room in my 4runner. Maybe cause im a teenager and like my seat leaned back... Haha:lookout:
 
The auto-dimming rear view mirror.

It's an aftermarket POS installed by the SE Toyota distributor. It doesn't dim very well and it's wider than the gap between the sun visors so everytime the visor does down it whacks the mirro out of position.

The funny thing is, most of my close friends are tall, even the girls. So when we all hang out its a bunch of tall people, and then me the odd ball. Though I can still take most of them one on one at basketball :boxer:
 
My strong hate is that I cannot figure out how to fix my rear window switch, the damn thing has only gone down with the key since I got it. Other that than maybe mpg but it's really not that bad all considering.
