What do you love about your 3rd gen 4Runner?

I have seen many threads from new members asking about the pluses in buying a 3rd gen 4Runner. I thought it would be cool to hear what people love about their trucks?

My 'loves' are, in no particular order...
-high mileage reliability
-turning radius
-rear diff lock option
-full frame
-ground clearance
-non-mini-van-like styling, as other SUVs have edged towards
-good-sized moonroof (bigger than all others I've had on cars, at least)

I'm sure I have missed a bunch. You?

#1 thing I love the most about my 4runner is when I wake up, everyday, she starts, runs, and gets me from point a to b without any issue compared to everything else I have always owned.

I like that after 13 years it still doesn't "look" old or out of date, and it's reliable as ever even with 230,000+ on the clock.

It's 16 years old, 244k miles... leather still feels new, everything power still works (expect for the damn antenna), weather seal is all in great shape, it crawls through stuff my z71 would have been bouncing off the rev limiter to do, I have taken it from AL to TX and for easter weekend went to Colorado (all the way to Salida and Poncha Pass) did some mild 4 wheeling at 9,000ft+, got 20-22mpg doing around 75mph there and back. And the only issue its had has been starter contacts.

Factory e-locker, rear window rolls down, wheels pretty good, reliable, looks good, nice aftermarket support on off road goodies for the most part. Its a Toyota ..

The completely rust free status
The Anthracite color (clear coat still at 96%)
The fact that is is still very much a proper SUV

I love the look

The 3rd gen is my favorite looking SUV on the road. There isn't another SUV I'd rather have. And it is perfect for dogs, the rear window and the way the seats fold down with headrest holders is perfect for my use. No dog hair gets on the leather, so I can take my dog everywhere and still have people ride with me without dog hair getting on everything. And the quality is unsurpassed. Best engine you can buy. All in all, my favorite vehicle, hands down.

There are tons of cats with roll down rear windows. My dad's early 80s jeep wagoneer had electric roll down rear.

The electric rear window was nothing new back in 1996. What was special about the 3rd Gen was that it was the first in the industry to have a liftgate that had the electric rear window.

....that power back window in the Jeep was probably always broken. Uncle had the same truck. He still *****es about that thing.
