what does this mean?

Just pulled this off Toyota owners site about my truck... what does this mean? it looks like the transmission was replaced on 10/12/10... I have always though my truck revved a little high on the HWY is it possible its still broken and its not shifting into overdrive? :sobbing: anybody have a translation? THANKS!

The replaced the trans and I could be possibly that's something went wrong during install that could still cause it to mess up. What are your RPMs at at 65mph? Mine are exactly at 2k

Just check it, looks like at 70MPH its at 2.1K and at 65its its on the lower side of 2K...maybe its because I have never owned a V8 (4Cyl & v6) and the lower rev noises just take getting use to.

It "feels" good at anything up to 80MPH, @ 70-80 I get a noticeable hum but I have not ruled out the tires just yet...(Firestone Destination MT's)

I know that other members have commented on the lag in shifting and would like to try pulling the (trans fuse?) to reset the memory on it to see if this is it... not that it bothers me too much I pretty much just let her do what she is best at and that's being a truck!

I still don't know what to make out of this paper work though... I would guess it was replaced in 2010 and if so how can I tell how many miles are on the tranny? would they have used a refurbished one or a used one?

Sorry for asking but are you saying I can register my 4Runner online at toyota.ca & receive the full service history for this vehicle? I know it was dealership serviced since new & I am now the 2nd owner..

yep that's the idea its a nice tool for looking into the service history for your car... not sure if work done at non-Toyota dealers will show-up though. I only have 3 service records and the first isn't until 80+K miles. I doubt it was that neglected!! HAHAHA

So what your saying is I have a 2yr old re-manufactured tranny in my 9yr old truck?...sorry I am not too familiar with reman and oem procedures does that mean the tranny (although re-man.) is new? all new gears/parts or do they just yank one out of another truck?

It looks like your transmission was replaced under warranty and the customer had to pay for some exhuast hardware. I wouldn't worry to much unless you're having trans issues, Toyota remans are pretty much as good as new; at least from my experience with them.

Well hell, that's good news for me! A new tranny and because toyota was good enough to put down the mileage I know the tranny only has...24K miles on it! Then its no wonder when I changed out the fluid it was clean...so now I have a 23,532mi on this one.

She has 110K now and I have replaced:
water-pump/timing belt
x-cas/diff's to AMSOIL
transmition to AMSOIL

she's as tight as a top... and my Toyota Mechanic said my truck would sell for $14,000 at his dealer. I got her for $11,500 (PA car so a little rust on the bottom) POR15 already done... -$2500 for a little elbow grease is cool with me! :lmao:

Not sure about the Canadian site but Ive been registered at the toyota.com/owners site since I bought my truck in 2010. The dealer serviced the vehicle until 25k and Ive serviced it since. All of the dealer services show up but as you can see, you can also add your own service records every time you do scheduled or other maintenance. I back these records up with reciepts for the items purchased to service the vehicle so if / when I ever do sell it, there will be a chronological history of all the maintenance that has ever been done along with reciepts to prove Im not full of it. Also, there are digital copies of the owners manual which is very convenient. Overall its a very useful site and one definitely worth registering at, especially if you are purchasing used.

Hi all, I've been trying to locate the Toyota service records for the 2007 I bought last December. It spent every winter in Florida, summers in Canada, it's a Canadian 4runner. I have only been able to get the history at the Canadian dealership by sleuthing to find out how it ended up for sale at an Ottawa dealership (was transferred from Kingston). Long story short, I don't think .ca works the same as the .com website :-(

Maybe this has changed in the last 4 or 5 months since I last tried.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Here in Canada we have privacy laws that don't allow us to access the previous history thru the website...stupid I know. And you can't get the history thru the .com website because your vin# is registered as a Canadian vin# and therefore protected by the laws.

However the dealerships have this history in their database. The first one I went to wouldn't print them out for my but then I tried a different one who had no problem printing them out. However they changed the database in 2005 or something like that so you can't get any records prior to then.

Yeah, that's pretty much the story I got. The frustrating part is I couldn't care less about the previous owner, I just want to know what work was done at the dealership, under warranty. I wonder if I have a leg to stand on if this truck was a lease....since Toyota would technically be the owner. I don't have a problem chasing down the info from the dealership, however I have no idea where in Florida this guy had it serviced....
