what else to replace during timing belt replacement

hi all,
i'm sending my 2005 v8 in for maintenance next week. i'm having the timing belt, water pump, accessory belt and radiator fan clutch replaced. are there any other parts i should typically have replaced during this type of maintenance?

I've got the v6 but with something like a timing belt, things I would look at would be rad hoses, spark plugs, oil change, air filter, coolant drain and fill. Of course money is always the deciding factor here but that's what I would at least consider and do if needed.

If he is getting the water pump replaced then the coolant drain is a given.

All of the other preventative maintenance stuff is always a good idea though. I wouldnt replace the rad hoses unless they are looking damaged.

I don't know how many miles is on your vehicle but the fan bracket where the fan clutch mounts on usually goes out around 200k to 250k so if you are over 200k miles i would do it for sure.

Don't bother with Amazon spark plugs. Few of us got burnt with knock-offs that we thought were OEM. I'm guessing I got the knockoffs as I get slight shake at idle sometimes still.

hey thanks a lot, this was the type of thing i was wondering about. the truck has 210,000 kilometers on it. the darn bracket for the fan clutch is more expensive than the actual fan clutch lol.

Timing belt tensioner, cam and CRANK seals, thermostat and gasket , idler pulley .

Absolutely...Once it starts making noise it doesn't take long to seize up. Left me stranded. Right at 200k. Serpentine Belt Snapped.
