I'm 50/50 on it. Mine has one but I don't know how useful it is. The most use I got out of it was a BBQ. Used it to put all the food on as we didn't have outdoor tables. It's nice for my wife I suppose to load stuff in when she goes to Costco as she's petite, but since it's level and doesn't go to the edge of the seats it's easier to just load something and push it back. It'd be REALLY great if they'd installed a drop in container or storage area underneath the deck. The small one behind the seat is nice. I stash bungie hooks in their for my dogs crate.

I think I might have used it but when I found the SR5 I wanted it happened to have a 3rd row seat instead. My kids are out of the house so I didn't need the 3rd seat but the salesman claimed it would improve my resale value (I know, that's debatable)... but bottom line I didn't care that much so I took it with the seat.
I've used the 3rd seat exactly one time since getting the vehicle but on a positive note; we managed to fit 3 adults back there for a short trip!

:How did you manage to get the slideout on a TE Premium? I thought it only came on the LE?
I used the Toyota website to "build" my T4R and I didn't see the slideout tray listed as an option for any of the models...
Oh - and BTW, saw your sig - that was my wife's favorite thing about the truck too, the red stitching on the seats!

I dunno honestly. The dealership had just got them in, literally...It was the same day they started marking down all the 10-13 model 4Runners. They had a brand new 13 limited they marked down, but the features... I liked the trail better. They only had a few TE models, they had another one that had 3rd row seating but my wife wasn't sold on the 3rd row seating, they are literally for small children, and small children belong in car seats. So we went with the sliding deck, it appeared to be equipped from factory...
I have just ordered my 2016 TRD Pro and want the sliding rear cargo deck. My current dealer is telling me that the floor is an option that can only be selected and/or installed at the plant. I don't understand why this would be the case. Have any of you ever been able to order the slide out deck from a dealer or aftermarket?
That's not what my dealer told me. The cargo floor is something they put in AFTER it arrives in country but before being sent to the dealer. If yours is in transit, you can have it installed/deinstalled once it hits the docks. I was told this because I'm still 50/50 on it as well and have it on order but might have it removed before it gets to me.

It's an option that's available on the TE, TEP or TRD Pro. Limited too I assume. The dealers or Toyota Japan puts them in most of the TEP and TRD Pro because people want the accessories and it drives up the sale price. That's good for the dealer and Toyota.
I didn't want it and ordered it without one. I want the extra storage space and I want it down low. I also removed my back seats for a Labor Day weekend trip and haven't put them back in yet. That really increased the storage space and let me put the heavy water and ice cooler down low in the middle of the truck.

Beyond the capability of a sliding tray
Stop me if I've told you this already.
Recently I had to rent a motorized vibration compaction plate for compacting gravel and sand for an artificial turf project at my daughter's house. That thing probably weighs 200 pounds if not a little more. We had a tarp and two 2x4s flat in the 4Runner bed to set it on and protect the Styrofoam and carpet floor. Working with my son-in-law we could lift it but not very high or for very long. We made the mistake of lifting it by the tube steel frame that runs over the top, where a forklift with a lift hook could pick it up if you had one handy. So we're picking it up from the top and we stand up with it, but we can't bend our arms to lift it any farther. We had it almost as high as the bumper. No good, we set it down again. Then it occurs to me we had to lift it by the 1 1/2" thick cast steel plate at the bottom. Up and in it goes and very quickly we slid it forward onto the boards. I tied it down inside the truck to keep it from shifting.
Now I know the tray is rated for 400 # and you can sit on it even if you're a big guy. But I wouldn't have tested it with this vibrator plate and if I had the tray we would have had to lift it 4" higher.
I'm glad I don't have one.

Also wanted the rear slider when I bought my '13, but the one with the other stuff I liked was a great deal I could drive off the same day so I took it with the 3rd row seat. My kids are all grown so I've had my 4R for almost 3 yrs and never used the 3rd seat.
One thing a salesman told (yeah, take with a grain of salt) is the 3rd row seat will help resale value when ready to sell or trade.
