What have you put in your gas tank & crankcase other than gas & oil?
I have already put the following once in a 7 year span:

Gas Tank - STP Gas Treatment, STP Injector Cleaner, STP Octane Booster, B&G Gas Treatment, Heet Water Remover (yellow and red bottles), Stabil gas stabilizer, Seafoam, Lucas gas treatment, and some NOS 101 octane.

Crankcase - Slick 50, B&G oil treatment, STP oil treatment, Restore Motor Flush (before oil change), and CD-2 detergent oil treatment.

30K miles ago 'til now, i put nothing but oil and gas.

Well, I've only had my baby since April (2010) but:

Oil: Mobile1, 5W20, 5W30(now)
Gas tank: Shell V-Power Fuel System Cleaner (every oil change)

Purchased with 72K on the clock, now there is 80K.

In the 4runner its been Mobil 1 5w-30 for the oil and chevron 86 octane for fuel. I've ran a bunch of different fuel brands when we travel with it though. In the past with other vehicles I use to run some octane booster and/or techron injector cleaner or lucas fuel treatment. That was until I got into superchargers and turbos for a while and realized those additives can glaze over the spark plugs resulting in misfires and poor performance. Seems to only be an issue on vehicles that are boosted. I've stayed away from any fuel additives since. On some of the older higher mileage vehicles I would still run some Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer.

That's it... I was wondering because it's pretty cold there for most of the time.

Is there a popular brand? Shell, Castrol or ???

I usually use Mobile, but sometimes Shell, Castrol I've not seen but we have many types of oil in Iceland.

The difference between shell and mobile is probably close to zero.

It's not that cold here, usually at the shor it's 'around -10 to 10°C in the wintertime.
In the highlands it rarely goes below -25, usually -10 to -19 or so...

Never had much of problems concerning the cold.

Doh! :bash: I forgot. That's actually how Iceland go it's name. It was a fake name given to throw the European conquers off and encourage them to go to a nicer place like Greenland:D:hunter: Here it is 1140 years later and the trick still works!

All at once?
Me - I haven't put anything in except good quality fuel and synthetic oil.
 
Additives

By far..... the best product I've EVER used is "SEA FOAM" additive.
Used in the Automotive and Marine industry.
This stuff is an absolute must use!!!

Nope. When i first had that sulfur smell, i poured the STP gas treatment. When the stealership wanted to charge me $80 to clean my injectors, i poured the STP injection cleaner. When i wanted to spank some ricers during the summer, i poured the STP Octane Booster. One day when someone borrowed my 4R for a couple hours, he said he put $10 in gas @ 7-Eleven then i poured some B&G Gas treatment. When it first got below zero degrees in Colorado, i poured the Heet Water Remover. When i flew out of town for a business trip for a month, i poured Stabil gas stabilizer. At one point of time i was @ WalMart and saw this SeaFoam bottle and i just poured it in without fear. At another point of time when i was @ Autozone, they were having a sale for Lucas gas treatment for $2. Again, i poured it in without fear. At one summer night, some ricers wanted to race me so i bought a big bottle that said NOS 101. So i poured that in and raced these kids. lol I poured Slick-50 @ 50K, poured B&G oil treatment @ 60K, poured STP oil treatment when i went over my 5K oil change interval at one time, poured Restore Motor Flush at next oil change, and poured CD-2 detergent oil treatment @ 75K.

Now my V8 can outrun any V8 in Colorado. :lmao:
 
Try to use top tier gas (Chevron, Shell) and when needed use a high quality injection cleaner (Seafoam, Chevron, Amsoil). Only if you have water problems use red HEET. Octane booster does NOTHING, don't waste your money.

Stay away from Water Wetter it will cause brown foamy scum in your radiator after time.

As far as oil additives, NEVER add anything into your oil unless you have an old junker that absolutely needs it. Additives are chemicals, chemicals are the first thing in oil to break down and contaminate your oil. This will cause sludge and/or poor ware protection. If you use a high quality full synthetic oil you do not need any additives.

A few quick points of note. If your gas has 10% ethanol there is NO need to use any type of HEET, gas line dryer... all you would be doing is adding more useless alcohol to your system (that already contains 10% alcohol), throwing your money away and robbing your system of power. Yes

Second, chemicals are good. Synthetic is ALL chemical and not all synthetics are created equal <-- uht ohhh no he didn't just start another oil war!! quick douse flames, douse flames. I am not intending to start an oil war, just wanted to mention that the synthetic oils are purely chemical and that not all chemicals are bad. So if you are using a conventional there are certain chemicals that are actually beneficial.

The less you put in your engine the better and mine has had nothing but M1 and I use BG's 44K once a year.

Seafoam really only does anything if the engine is already dirty and with alot of abused miles.

Slick 50? Engine Restore? Seriously? Do your engine a favor and just use a quality oil and a once a year fuel treatment since I can't imagine adding all that crap to my engine.
