what is differnce between TE none KDSS and SR5

I was wondering what is difference between 2015 4RTE none KDSS and SR5.

I am looking at TE, below is option:

Mine came with everything minus the TE and Cargo Cross Bars. Granted I do have the SR5 Premium.

HOWEVER, you did forget to mention the hood scoop and the front/rear bumper guard.

Also, mine came with rubber all weather 4R mats, black leather interior, and I'm sure one or two other options that the SR5 Prem comes with over the TE. If you're going for the TE though .. GET it with KDSS (IMO).

The most important thing IMO is the rear locker. The terrain select is a nice feature too. Cosmetically: the wheels. Either way you'll be good. I'm going to assume the trail will have slightly better resale value.

All the 4wd goodies- crawl control, locking rear diff, and I believe multi terrain is only on TE as well. The 4wd shifter is also a gear shifter instead of a dial. You lose your sunglasses holder and I believe the rocker panels are different but for sure the front and rear bumper silver trim pieces.

-TE exterior trim is different, rocker moldings are different, scooped hood, different wheels, rear diff lock, KDSS available, crawl control, multi-terrain select, seat covers are different material.

You should be able to google the option packages on both, or look on Toyota's website and it should list out the differences.

I paid around 37 before taxes and extras. However it had everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. They also hooked me up with a bunch of other incentives and gave me a great deal for my trade in. Keep in mind though that mine is a 14' and the SR5 "Premium" not just the SR5. Also it is 4x4.

I'm not sure how the 15's are selling, but KBB (Kelly Blue Book) is a good place to start.

Toyota also has an e-brochure that shows exactly all the differences in table format along with the SR5 base and premium and the limited. Just do some looking around.

I twisted them a bit for a set, since my trade was equipped with them. I wanted just a smidge more for the trade than they were offering, so I asked for them to throw them in. Don't get me wrong, I was happy with the trade-in price, but I sensed weakness so I asked for them -- noting I would buy if they complied. And they did.

I don't think it's that common (or uncommon), but seeing as the dealer departments all operate together I figured they could move some figures around to make it work. I mean, people write in a lot of stuff like starters, take-off tires, hood film, etc...why not floor mats? Plus, the truck I was getting didn't come with them already packaged when I started talking to them. So I got to take advantage of that fact too...

Overall, I was super happy with how everything went down. I really liked the SR5 Premium too like you have, but I was sort of bent on that KDSS option so I had to go with the trail. I also liked the ride height being slightly higher.

I'll also throw out there that the clearance and approach angle is different on the trail.

I'm not sure I would trust that. I have not really compared the 2014+ trucks in much detail, but I don't see any obvious difference in approach or clearance. Maybe there is some little nit, but you could easily improve both with a lift/tires.

The reason I say don't trust it is that they previously listed the trail with a better departure even though the hitch is the limiting factor.

Sure could, but folks not wanting do a lift may appreciate the 3" difference on the approach. Just sayin. It's also easier to get to those recovery hooks, which is nice.

This brochure lists it as being exactly the same for all 4x4 models for the 2014 4R... Approach of 33 deg and Departure of 26 deg.

The 4x2 models have 3 deg less approach, but all 5 4x4 models are the same.

IMHO the one killer feature is really the locker. That is a very expensive after market add on that you get a pretty good deal on buying the trail. If we are not including KDSS and you don't care about a locker, then maybe the SR5 is a better deal? I ended up with an SR5 due to limtations on stock and the locker is the only thing I am a tad perturbed at having to add on myself at some cost...
