What is the max tire size on stock 4R, and is my spare rim the same.

Second Question, I know I have a full spare, but is the Rim the same, or it it just some cheap rim. Just wondering for the aspect of mounting the 5th wheel on the back. Dont feel like dropping it just to see so figured id ask yall first.

Or, you can get 275s with what is reported to be very minor issues often easily resolved.

This assumes a stock wheel, no spacers, etc..

There is a whole thread with all the nuances of tire / wheel changes. What works, what can work with possible issues, what can be made to work with specific changes that will be needed.

Did you know that you can open the fuel filler door with the car running?! I wonder if Toyota knows about this.. huge safety issue if you ask me.

I recommend sticking to stock tire size when you get A/T’s unless you are absolutely getting a lift or sticking to stock wheel specs. I put on some SCS Ray 10’s with stock size procomps and still had to do a little trimming due to the different offset. But wow, what a difference a cool set of wheels makes! Totally new truck! By the time I put aside the funds for a good quality lift I’ll need new tires anyway. Too many other more useful mods ( for me) to do first.

The spare is a full size steelie.

I’m running 275/65r20 (equates to 33”x10.8”) on stock l.e. wheels they rub a little on the front of the front fender liners when backing up and turned fully but even after swapping suspension I have not experienced anything more. Full size spare under the rig too

The spare rim is a steel 17 x 7”, same specs as an SR5 rim. I can’t believe I’m adding relevant info to this post. :deadhorse:

Oh look, internet tough guys. Made this while at work, not going under my car in slacks and a dress shirt. I also looked up multiple threads on max tire size and they all gave 20 different opinions. None of which seemed to give a clear answer to the max tire size.

Sad how triggered some of yall are. Didn't realize so many cucks are on this forum.

actually I find this hilarious, and as I said before, I did search it but found that there was no conclusive answer.

What does it say about you that you saw a thread you have seen a "million" times and were then dumb enough to respond with nothing productive. Nice talk sport.

Name calling, ouch - Those threads had different opinions because of the variables - no 4runner is the exactly same, where you suspension falls inside the tolerance is different, tires are not the same size from different brands even though they say 285/70R17 they vary in actual size. Depends on what you alignment specs how much pressure in the tires etc etc - the answer for you is stick with 265/70's as someone mentioned above

You seem to want to mount the tire on the back of the 4runner via either a rear bumper or tire carrier yet you are unwilling to peak under neither to see if its a steely or alloy rim.:shrug: I am not sure that you really did search - I just typed in "5th gen largest tire" and the FIRST two threads are the forums compilation of all the knowledge and experiences over the years, with charts! and the 4th - is a thread about what is the biggest spare you can fit.

yes, and those charts varry from what other people were saying. Im not going to take the first link for its word and just assume it is right. That is a terrible way of doing research. When you are unsure of something you take in all the information you can to build your reasoning behind a decision. Im going to get as much information as possible, try to get the most recent info on the matter (via this thread) and try to form a answer from that information.
