What is this that came with my winch?

Well, I've got a good idea but still don't understand it. The part pictured came with my new winch with no other explanation other than a little pictogram indicating it goes on the positive side of the battery. It's not in the install manual or anything. It's easy to guess that it's a fusible link, but each of the modules is labeled "50A". 3 50A modules in parallel = 150A which isn't nearly enough for a winch. So I guess I know what it is, just can't figure out why they included it with my winch.

Well, crap. I can't get the photo to attach for some reason.....it's two steel bars, one labeled "BAT", connected by 3 little modules, each labeled 50A. Hopefully somebody knows what I'm talking about....:redbrick:

I haven't been able to post a pic since this morning. I don't know whats up with the site.
Anyway, I have a super winch that has something similar to what you are describing. I've never seen an amperage rating on them. There are three little boxes the size of a Whitman's sampler that bridge over two bars, one bar goes on the winch (load) side and the other on the Batt. side. I haven't stressed this winch out enough to give you any input on how much amperage they will handle. 150A for a heavy pull doesn't seem like enough as you were saying. Interested and watching.....

Its what you thought, but 150 continuous. It will peak higher and should be fine. Worse case you need more but doubt it.
