What is this?

I keep finding weird stuff on my 4runner as I try to track down an issue. I found this strange looking spring coming off my 4runner parking brake cable. I can't find other people with this thing on their 4runner, so I assume its aftermarket. Also my 4runner is non-ABS if that matters.

Any idea what it might be?

The LSPV is what it be

You can bleed it like you would a caliper.

It adjusts the proportion of brake fluid that goes to the rear based on its position.

You don't find much info on it because only non-abs 4runners use this nifty device.

Weird, never seen one. Brakes work fine and its surprisingly hard to make them lock up so I'll leave it be.
