What is your opinion on these LED strips?

Spotted this while looking at LED tails and not overly expensive-

I have noticed people tailgating me lately and while I desire a new rear bumper I would prefer to simply avoid a collision entirely...

I have seen these on some domestic pick-em-ups and I kind of like em myself, but wanted to gauge the feel of you dudes.

I would just put the money towards the LED tails myself. I think the strips look ok, but when half of it acts as a turn signal it looks ridiculous. More of a domestic pickup thing like you mentioned

their OK..............if you had a Tacoma or Tundra.........dunno if they would look right in a runner.

I don't like it...just another part to break if someone should hit you, taking things out of the back of the 4Runner, or for someone to steal. Tailgating doesn't bother me, but I take good notice of the driver, their vehicle and if I can get a view of their plate. Only for the reason if they do rear end me and then run, I can find them later after I make a report.
I'd put the money towards a sticker "Warning: I brake for tailgaters." "Unless you're a hemorrhoid, get off my tail!" My brother had this one on his lifted Tacoma, "Can't stop? Smile as you go under!"
If nothing else works, time for a brake check!

itll match up better if u had led tails, but the 4th gen with the leds will match better with this led strip, i know that plasmaglow makes some led tailgate strip.

I'd save and buy LED tails,those strips don't age well as some are stuck on with 3M tape and sticking it to the bottom of the tailgate would look a little ghetto IMO.

I was kind of picturing mounting them right along the plastic strip of the bumper but unsure if they would stick up too much for the tailgate to clear.

Appreciate the feedback, still mulling it over. The LED tails I was leaning towards were from carparts4u.com and wouldn't you know it.. they appear to have disappeared from the face of the Earth or at least the Internet earth.

I mounted 2 strips by my running boards amber in color used 3m double sided tape instead of screwing them in. looks good. wife has the camera so pics will come later if you would like to see them.

Okay just wanted to point out that Checker/O'Reilly has a similar item on sale for one month.

It is advertised as ANZO brand for $29.99 in the 48" size -but when I went to my local store to take a look it was a PILOT brand product.

Adaptable for both a 48 or 60 inch fitments (60 would be too wide for a 3rd gen Runner I do believe)

I am going to pass for now. I have never been impressed with PILOT aftermarket products.

If any of your local stores carry the ANZO brand and you decide to go this route- I would be curious to see the packaging and how it fits to your ride and so on.

Thanks for the feedback and saving my money for the LED tails or similar.
