what kind of miles are you putting on your new ride?

Just curious what peoples driving habits are like. Ive had my 5th gen for 3 weeks and just hit the 1000 mile mark which is kind of depressing since Ive been trying to keep it at 1000 miles a month.

Kind of hard to do I guess since Ive got a 32 mile one way commute to work, and I live in a pretty rural area (nearest town with stores is 20 miles away).

I have a second vehicle (97 dodge ram) that Ive been using to try and absorb some of commuting miles with, but even with that being driven 2-3 days a week to work its hard to keep the miles down.

Im trying to avoid what did with my 2003 4runner, which was put 23k miles a year on it. I just found some service records from that vehicle, and cant believe how many miles i put on it a short period of time:

You sound like a candidate for a Prius! 170k miles in 7 years is impressive.

Anyway, I'm at 9000 miles and I purchased mine at the beginning of April. So, I've had it 7 months. Up until early August, though, I wasn't daily driving it because I still had my GTI. The 4Runner was getting the travel miles, though, which is where I really put on the miles. 5 mile commute FTW.

Yeah, it held up pretty well. Didnt really have any major issues until '07 (90k mark) when both front brake calipers seized.

Fortunately I am doing MUCH less driving these days, so I think I can keep the mileage to around 15k a year.

Purchased July 26th (wife's birthday) and 3,800 mile so far.

I am a real hero for buying myself a truck on her birthday, actually she encouraged the buy. I love her! I think the birthday angle helped speed along my negotiation too.

Bought mine 16 Dec. 2009 and I have 26k on it now. I have been really impressed so far. I average 20 MPG and have not had any problems other than the wheel stud that Ziebart broke.

Purchased 4/19/2010 and have approx 8800 miles.

I commute to work approx 3 days a week (30mi round trip)
5 trips to Whistler over the summer for DH mountain biking (from Seattle)

I hate to see the miles adding up, but I sure love driving it! :bluejump:

Averaging 180 miles on my daily commute (19mpg).

Who can top that?

Have had mine for 4.5 months now and pushing 12k miles, but that included a 3,600 mile road trip this summer.

24,385 miles and the flood gate is now open....snowboard season officially started yesterday in SoCal! Made my first turns of the season today and I average 40+ days of riding per season! Truck will be one year old on 12/13/2010.
