What modding did you do to your wheel well trip after installing your offroad bumper?

What modding did you do to your wheel well trim after installing your offroad bumper?

Bit of a newb question:

So after getting my SW front bumper on, I was left with extra wheel well trim that was no longer anchored to anything anymore.

Do you guys trim to suit? Or do you remove the front portions?

I had temporarily secured them out of the way with plastic ties, but they must have gotten loose the other day while driving on the highway. At first I thought it was just the wind blowing real hard, but then realized that the wheel well trim must have gotten loose. I got home and removed the front portion on the passenger side. This leave the some of the well and let's say the washer fluid reservoir unprotected.

I could be mistaken, but I don't remember taking anything off other than the bumper, crossmember and two tiny supports for the corners. If I took any inner fender off, it's cause it was attached to the bumper.

I trimmed mine and left about 3/4" or so around the usable anchor point. I replaced the crappy factory retaining pins with sturdy solid nylon plugs I have.

I also painted everything flat black behind the face of the bumper to blend. Very pleased how it turned out. There is also 2 or 4 brackets you can unbolt (I think it's 4 but I could be wrong) to clean it up some.

I trimmed mine with the cutting wheel on my Dremel. Remember to wear goggles, those little pieces of hot plastic hurt in the eyeball.

I also painted everything flat black behind the face of the bumper to blend. Very pleased how it turned out.

I did that too, the Desert Dune fender flanges behind the Black bumper were annoying so I painted them flat black.

It took me nearly 2 months to figure out that's where it was coming from on mine. Very relieved I don't have to take the dash apart.
