What model is the "wild runner"?

Hey guys I'm new to 4runners, just sold my jeep and I am currently searching for a 99-00 4runner here in Puerto Rico. I just moved here in Jan, and never heard of a "Wild Runner" trim level until I got here, and I can't seem to find any info about them anywhere.

At first I thought they must have just been aftermarket stickers, but the more I look, the more of them I see and find for sale. Any help would be great.

Since you're in Puerto Rico there is no telling.

However, never have hearing about it before, I'm assuming it's just a custom sticker someone put on it. Much like the TRD stickers from the Tacomas that people put on them.

I believe the main trim levels are SR5, Limited, Sport Edition, and Hilux (overseas/middle east).

I could be wrong though. Like I said, I have no expertise with 4Runners in PR. Could just be a region thing with small optional additions.

Could you do a little more digging for us and see what kind of motor is in it?

From what I can see they have a hood scoop, automatic, v6, power everything. not sure if its leather or cloth interior.

I'm from PR also. My 4Runner is also know as a Wild 4Runner. I believe it's officially known as the SR5 trim level. In my case, it's a 3.4L 2WD (unfortunately) with cloth interior, hood scoop. Originally, it did not have a rear wing, roof rack or trailer hitch. I can check the old springs and see what color code they are and see if there's anything special about them. Overall, it's an excellent SUV. Feel free to see photos of it in my built thread (look at my signature at the bottom).

If anybody wants specific photos, let me know. Like I said, it's an SR5 with a factory installed decal. Mine used to have a smaller decal at the C-pillar (pillar behind rear doors).

For you PR guys. Do you have a 3 row of seats? Or have you ever seen it?

I saved this picture from a blog years ago and it's always intrigued me. Seat belts mount to the rear most pillar.

Trikz - can you post a picture of the decal? Would be interesting to see.

Thanks,
SMR

Unfortunately, I lost my decal due to a recent re-paint and never got around to replacing it (or snapping a pic :frusty: ) but I'll do my best to find one or Photoshop a photo of my 4Runner with it. Lettering is pretty much the same as the first post, just smaller.

I've never seen that setup before. Looks really good. Mine doesn't have those rear seat belts. I'll keep an eye out for a 4Runner with this setup and take some pics. Might even see if ours have hidden mounts or something that would tell if it even was a factory option or a custom job. I'm pretty sure it might be a custom job but who knows...
