Good Times' posts are always refreshing. I operate close to stock and am perfectly happy to do so, but subtle mental pressure to mod for offroading tends to build up over time as I read various sites. Then he posts up and I'm reminded I'm perfectly happy with my setup and its capability.

It's really disappointing but I do hope that everyone will learn to appreciate their 30k vehicles and just drive it for what it was originally built. Lifts and tires are definitely overrated as it's really the drivers ability to drive that really makes the majority of the difference. Though I will say sliders are something that everyone should get as it's definitely worth every penny (some are more expensive but all function the same). They double as side steps for your vertically challenged loved ones as well as good shopping cart barriers!
I've definitely taken a different path but this was a path that was well researched from day one and knew of the consequences of cutting up a perfectly new 30k vehicle. Remember that every time you tinker with something non-factory, you risk the chance of breaking it or it breaking out in the middle of nowhere. There are days where I wish I just had a stock vehicle to romp around
Whatever ya do, make sure you go out on the trails with another vehicle. Don't drive solo unless you're really experienced and don't mind being stuck out in the middle of nowhere.

I love the looks of the lift with a passion , but driving the amount of miles I do every year it is a concern of mine for longevity of the truck.
The only mod I have for off road are the bigger tires 265/70/17 Revos , I've been through a lot with this truck and it amazes me , next up may be the leveling kit 1" for the front ( although the wife is against it , her theroy is go up higher or don't waste your time with the 1" and leave it stock ) to get more play area in the to hopefully prevent any rubbing . I already have the lift but no time to install it where I can coordinate a helper with my constant on call schedule.
