What mods to make while interior is gutted?

I did the 99+ rear panels in mine as well. (well, just the passenger side for the larger cargo pocket)

I just want to warn you now if you don't already know, IT IS NOT A STRAIGHT BOLT-IN!! There is a significant amount of cutting involved. There are some support webs in the rear walls that need to be cut away to make room for the larger cargo space. So fit the panels before you start with sound deadening and carpet, so that you don't get metal shaving in all of that.

For tan, is it the same colour as pre 99?

Get a few extra body panel clips, I'm sure a few will break.

I wish I knew! my interior is tan, but my rear left cargo panel is grey. It's what was at the pick-n-pull that day! lolol

I'm not picky about much, as long as function reigns supreme. Heck, my front seats are blue, but I got those because they were in as perfect of shape as any I've ever seen.

Good advice here! I sleep in the back of mine from time to time and would love a rear window switch on the d pilliar, wired always hot, even key off. A lever or something to pop the door would be great also.
I often ratchet strap firewood, water cans, or a folding table to the side wall of my cargo area. This would be amazingly easier if there were tiedown loops up higher then just the ones on the floor, I often wish I had eye bolts about 18" off the floor on the c and d pillars.
Ditch the rear heater, unnecessary.
Gut the inside box from the rear storage bin. I just did it and it probably tripled the available volume in there.
Oh and leds! Tons of leds! Shadows suck.
This is what I would do if in your shoes.

I like my rear heater. Don't know what all the haters are talking about.

LED's are the best. I skipped adding more though and just put a SMD board with a festoon adapter and stuffed it back under the cover. Night and day difference, literally. I put a festoon shaped 6 5050 SMD LED's in the front map lights too. I can leave my door open for hours (or overnight when kids play with the doors) and not have to worry about a dead battery, ever.

Yup, I put in those lights as well and love the brightness, plus not having to worry about a dead battery if the door stays ajar overnight.

If you find it helpful, it's pretty easy to run a jumper wire from the dome light to the map light on the driver's side by connecting the ground terminals. My driver's side map light comes on when the door is open providing a whole lot more light up front (powered by the dome light) and the driver's side map light button operates the dome light as well. The passenger's side is left untouched. Just a thought if that seems valuable to you, it does for me with car seats in the back seat since they always seem to be dropping things.
