percentages are used to indicate bloodline. half/half, half,quarter-quarter, half,quarter-eighth-eighth, etc.

i don't think America is "stuck" on it. it's heritage, history, culture. it's part of what makes you, well... YOU.

Say this to an American Indian, who receives significant benefits and other preferential treatment for being more than a certain percentage and you'll likely be scalped. I'd have a hard time saying we're stuck on it in America, but you can if you'd like.

On my Mother's side, I've been told we are related to Arthur Middleton.

And on my Father's side, I've been told we have relations to folks who were the first to settle Missouri (I don't recall the family name).

I am also Korean! My family immigrated to the U.S in 1974 (I was 2 years old). I believe I may be the most famous person in my family! I have been on TV three times in my life. The first was a brief shot during ESPN's college game day when Texas played Notre Dame (mid 1990's). The second was for a local news story, and the third was for a Toyota commercial (regional) after I purchased my 4Runner! Thanks Toyota for the sweet ride and the $100 for an hour of work on set!:bravo:

On my grandmother's side of the family, her great great great (i have NO idea how many greats) grandfather came to america in 1609 I think it was and he was supposedly one of the people that penned one of the drafts of the Declaration of Independence.

My family came to America from Romania in the late 1700's. My grandfather, Johnny Weissmuller, won multiple gold medals at the Paris Olympics, and also played Tarzan in the movies.

I'm all German on my father's side, and like5/8 Polish on my mother's side, the rest is German. So 11/16 German. My great great grandfather invented non alcoholic beer(insert generic German joke here), not sure who holds the patent on it now.

My mom's Hawaiian/Filipno, my dad is Italian; he met her when he was stationed in Hawaii, he's originally from Virginia where my family currently resides. You might see my dad on C-span every now and then addressing congress on new bills. He works for the Department of Energy and unfortunately had to deal with the aftermath of the oil spill.

Friends:

Jason Maraz that gay boo went to my high school and having went to Virginia Tech I was friends with Ryan Williams, David Wilson and a few of the cornerback all which play in the NFL. My best friend is the camera guy for Red Arrow hunting show(he's been filmed a couple times killing a hog) Since his show is sponsored by Dodge and Zac Brown, he gets to kick it with him all the time back stage and on the bus. This girl I used to date, her brother was roommates with Justin Verlanders little brother.
