My ancestory is mainly English w/ a little european (I think German), migrated from before the American Civil War and some from before the Revolutionary war. My mom has been studying our families geneology off and on for over 30 years. Shes found that a lot of our relatives fought on both sides of the civil war, and some of the more prominent blood line relatives fought as Galvinized Yankees.
As far as famous relations go, my family is related to former President George W. Bush, as distant cousins traced back to sometime around revolutionary war time frame.
Also, on my moms side through her dads side, Im realted to the Dalton Gang family. She has proof that we are, just not how it happened.

My ancestors mainly hail from Scotland. They have been in America since around 1605. I'm direct bloodline to Robert Livingston who helped write the Declaration of Independence, and I'm also related to Captain Morgan. No not the liquor, but the man the liquor was named after. I'm related to this of other prominent names in American history, so much so that my history teacher believes on my 18th birthday ill be admitted into the Illuminati.

Canadian born.
On my mother's side both of my grandparents are multi-generational Canadian going as far back as the 1800's. My great-great etc grandfather was the inventor of paper from pulp but I do not believe was credited with the patent. There is a monument that honours him. I am also a distant cousin of former hockey player Adam Graves. My grandparents on my mother's side are mostly of English descent. I believe some French is in there too.
On my father's side my grandfather was from Ireland and my grandmother from England (she also had Italian ancestry).
If anyone asks I usually say I'm of Irish descent but do acknowledge my various roots.

On my dads side mostly German and my moms side Czechoslovakian, and other European mixes. One of my grandfathers sisters was married to Dutch Sternaman, co founder of the Decatur Staleys, later changed to the Chicago Bears. One of my great grandmothers brothers/cousins or something invented barbed wire. One of my uncles was a general in the Air Force. My grandmother was a Cody. She told me there was long standing talk that they were related to buffalo bill but no one had proof. My great grandfather was one of the last people to deliver mail on horseback in Chicago.

heres a link to a play recently produced about the basketball team that my grandpa was a star player on. turns out they were one of the greatest high school basketball teams . 100+ points a game, 9 national records broken, and 18 state records. Most of the players were mexican kids including my grandpa.

Indian, my cousin is Udita Goswami who is a Bollywood Actress in India. My stepmom, who my dad married like a year after my biological mom passed away due to cancer 14 years ago, is white and her cousin is pretty big on American TV but I would prefer not to disclose the exact name but I'll just say my stepmom is from West Monroe and her maiden name is Howard if you can decipher that then kudos to you.
