What oil to use for differentials and transfer case? Delvac? Redline?

Thinking of changing my oil in the differentials and transfer case. I have heard a few say some really good things about the Mobil Delvac 75-90 but not sure how it works in a 4Runner. That's the one you can get online for about $40/gallon. Any other proven recommendations in synthetic?

Changed mine to Amsoil 75w-90. Noticed a big difference, much smoother.

Amsoil 75W-90 here as well. Shifts into 4WD faster and much more smoothly. Big difference - easy DIY job - just make sure to spend $10 on a hand pump.

Will definitely invest in a hand pump. So nobody using Delvac, I guess. I'm abandoning Amsoil (moved to Torco for engine oil) and was hoping to try something new and "improved".

Here's another vote for using a hand pump, I'd recomend getting a good one, I bought the amsoil pump and it's pretty nice. Which ever one you get you'll probaby want to put a hose clamp or zip tie on the hose to pump conection mine leaked without it. Also I'd put down card board, you're going to have drips no matter how careful you are and that synthetic gear oil is sticky stuff.

How many pints / gallons should I buy for my front, rear transfer case and transfer case? I got the 4.7 V8 2004 4Runner.

Double check, but I believe total it will take close to 7 qts. I had very little left over after doing all 3 on mine..
