You are correct. I just discovered that the system wouldn't change from blowing in you face no matter what mode was selected. I pulled the motor Saturday without one to replace it. No more noise. So now all I have to do it get the replacement and reinstall it. Thanks for the reply.

You should be able to open the moter up and see if the worm gear is loose. If it is you can fix it without buying one (hopefully)!
