What piston rings for york 210 compressor?

Hi guys,

I just bought an old beat up York 210 ac compressor which I will use for on board air. I'm going to restore the thing but I don't know what the appropriate piston ring are. Can anyone help? I'm not sure but maybe I can take some measurements and buy a generic piston ring that might fit, will this work?

Can’t help you on the rings, but....
Back in the day we would run those ac pumps on our jeeps for onboard air.

#1: you have to mount that thing to belt drive off the engine. That’s going to be tough on a 4 runner.

#2: we always had an oil recycler setup to lube the pump. That’s an added pain.

You’d likely be better served to spend your time hard mounting a DC powered pump and a small tank.

There are a few places in Florida that sell parts to rebuild AC compressors. At least the more popular ones.

Ya for sure it’s not going to be easy haha. I decided to go this route only because I have some time now and it’s a fun project lol.

I didn’t think about the oil recycler setup, I’m going to look into how I can do that now.

This is 20 year memory, so.....

We’d use an oil air separator commonly used by paint guys with a petcock drain. We’d then have the drain plumbed back into the AC pump. You’d run with the valve closed, then when the separator was part filled you’d open the valve to recycle the oil.

Here is a pretty good write up that says you don’t need the oil recycler with the York, but then their diagram at the bottom shows one??
