What PSI on P-Rated Tires For the Beach

I'm going to be driving on the beach in a few weeks for the first time in my 4Runner. I should be fine, but I want to air-down my tires and was wondering how low do you think I can safely go on my P-Rated Firestone Destination A/T's.

I run them on the street at 35psi.

Thoughts/opinions?

Depending on the type of beach and where you drive on it, you probably won't need to air down much at all esp in 4wd. I used to take my Jeep to the beach and it would handle sand that got a passenger car stuck.

I've take similar street tires down to 12-15 PSI with no issues if you still want to go that route.

The only risk of going too low is de-beading the tire. I'd say if you want maximum flotation with minimal risk of de-beading, then about 15lbs. Since you think you won't really need to air down, maybe 18-20 to really play it safe.

The dramatic footprint gains don't start until under 10lbs but then you're playing with fire.

10-20 you should be safe. When you get below that, you can like others have pointed out.. unseat the tire bead.

I am sure you know, but don't take sharp turns. That really helps unseat the bead.
