What replacement shocks / springs to remain at stock height?

I am about to replace the shocks and probably the springs on both the front and rear of my 97 SR5 4x4.

I do not want a lift:
a) It would not fit in my garage
b) I don't have a need for a lift

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could give me some guidance.

As for stock replacement shocks, you want Tokico Trekmaster shocks...I have a nice set of 98 Springs sitting in my basement. PM for a price.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the '99 springs from Sonoran Steel.

Why would he want 99 spring if he doesn't need a lift?

I'd also say Trek Masters and stock springs. You might not need to replace the front springs, but I'd get new rears since I'm sure it's sagging.

Did you ever get the recall done on you rear springs? They did them on my '97 years ago (before I lifted it obviously). You may be able to get it done for free still. I still have the replacement '97 coils that came with my recall (which I replaced with OMEs) and they weren't sagging when I took them off, so PM me if you're interested - I have no use for them.

Good point. I totally forgot about that. When I had my 98 (all the way up until 2006), they did that recall in 2005, so I'm sure they'll still do it. Call up the dealership with the VIN.

If the recall was first done in 2005 I doubt if mine has had it done, since I bought it in August 2005 and the seller did not mention anything about having it done. I'll check that out first and see what they can tell me.

I think p_nut was just saying they did his recall in '05, but the recall started before that, they did mine in '02. Hopefully they haven't closed the service campaign yet.

Not to steal this post but I have a similiar question about my 99 SR5 4x4, 179,000. I want to keep it at factory height, I know I need new shocks but unsure about the springs. I measured all four tires, LR 34 7/8, RR 35 7/8, both fronts are 35 1/2 to the top of the wheel well. Running 31s. The shock on the LR is definitly older and in worse shape than the one on the RR, not a matched set. Will new shocks alone correct the difference or do I also need new springs. What kind of shocks do you recommend, the guy at Advanced recommended Monroe, saw alot of guys recommending Tokico and Bilstein. What about Rancho or Skyjacker? Prices all seem comparable. Looked at OME but do not have that kind of $ right now.

As far as the springs, I know mid year 99 had taller springs, mine was made in May 99, does that mean it has/ had the taller springs? Was looking at Moog coils, any recommendations?
