What should I coat my sliders with? Pros and cons

Hey everyone!
I need your opinion and expertise! I just placed an order with a local metal shop to build me some sliders/sidesteps. I need to figure out what I am going do for paint. I live on gravel so my concern is the paint chipping. I need something heavy duty that won't chip. Some options that I have thought of are Powder coat and line-x. I need you guys to help me out and tell me the pros an cons of these or any other paint method you would think would be better.

Same as everyone is saying, I originally bed lined it since it holds up well to being sand blasted from the dirt and then just spray paint it every now and then to fix the dings.

I used (on bare metal) paintable undercoating spray cans. Worked well for me.

Pics of hammered black on your truck components? I am trying to decide between this and just a plain satin black. Either way whatever I use will come in a rattle can for easy/cheap touch up.

I've read mixed things on powdercoat. If it's good it'll hold up to sand and rocks being thrown up, but regardless the first time you actually use them it's gonna get scraped off.

Best by far is 2 cans of good primer, then 2 cans of Rustoleum High Performance Enamel THEN put the stick on Grip Tape, can cover top and bottom if concerned about chips.
Tough as nails and non slip.

Powder coat will definitely hold up better than paint, BUT, it WILL still chip and paint is a hell of a lot easier to touch up!!

I always raddle can and always in past have gotten high grade auto paint from dupli color and others. Always did the etching primer, then auto primer, sanding and paint. I have had it chip here and there some okay results.

The Scott at AOR told me they use krylon Satin black paint/primer in one. I didnt think the cheaper krylon would be that good but I went with it. Coated my front grill, front AOR plate bumper and its been a month or so with no chips at all. I highway drive a lot and the others stuff would chip from road rocks. This stuff is solid. I highly recommend the Krylon Dual paint/primer all in one.

Okay than you everyone! I will post some pictures of them when they get out of the shop and with whatever coating I decide to go with.

I used rubberized undercoating from a spray can on the underside of my sliders. It has held up extemely well, even better than the paint that I put on the top side. I haven't even had to touch up the underside because of stone chips, but I've repainted the top twice already.

spray on bedliner from a rattle can. holds up relatively well, it has grit so it's not slippery when wet, and is really easy to touch up.
