What Should I Do After The First Fishing Trip?

Hello all, This past weekend, I took my first weekend fishing trip in my new T4R. I was stoked to go on a real drive and just see how this new ride fishes. I wasn't disappointed. My 4Runner drives wonderfully, lots of room and very comfy on a 2 1/2 hr ride. I had to leave early AM to meet a group of friends, lights are great, nothing bad to report about anything on the road. Off road was just as good, although I knew that after heading out into the desert every night the first two weeks I had my truck. Loads nicely, lots of room, I had to change a few things, but I like the changes better. The only slightly negative was I need to get my steps on. Wet wading gear will get in and out much better with a step.
So, my only question as I returned home was"What to do now?" Usually, I'm pretty tired and just take a nap before I go to bed. Tonight was different. My new T4R was very dirty, I'll just give it a nice bath. I got done quickly, so I did a nice job on the windows. Hey, still have light, I'll get out my new polymer wax and put a shine on this bad boy!! Got done just in time for dinner. Then my wife came out to see if I was going to make a fire in the backyard and BBQ? Who needs a fire, I have a brand new super shiny 4Runner!! So we sat and enjoyed a nice cold beverage, watching the sunset color my awesome T4R!! I guess that is what I should do when I get home from fishing!!!!

Haha. Glad the 4Runner worked an intended.

Usually once I hang up the waders and unload the gear I am too tired to clean up the truck.

I live in the mountains where glue-like mud, salt, and snow are the norm.

I don't remember the last time I cleaned either of mine inside or out.

It should be fine.

Dang, if I lived there I'd be in Death Valley every weekend.

exterior wash

I usually do a spray wash on the outside and underneath the truck. The sand in Texas is very fine (silt) and it gets everywhere.

Do a rinse with a power washer and you should be fine.

Hi ebg18t, I'm usually wiped out by the time I get home too. I'm just excited to have my new T4R. I've been wanting to get a few coats of this wax on my truck and ended up having time.

Martin, The desert is one of the things I really like about where I live. I wish it was closer to where I like to fish, but then, most of my friends are from SoCal and have a much farther drive. I have two nice rivers reasonably close by. There are many cool places to 4wheel here. The Sequoia Nat Forest is in my back yard, so to speak. A short drive north is the Inyo Nat. Forest. Really A nice place to live!!
