ah someone beat me to it...yep H11 and fogs are 9006 i just ordered two HID kits for my truck yesterday one for headlights and one for fogs....you can check out Sylvania's Site for the lamp replacment guide.

I just installed HID's for my low beams the other day, light output in the projector= amazing! I gotta save up another $100 for the fogs..

what color you end up getting? im going with 6000k on the headlights and 3000k on the fog lights. i wanted a hint of color but still white. i had 8000k on my 3rd gen and loved it but i wanted to stay more towards factory colors now

I went with an extreme color, QB (Dark Blue). Got them from http://www.gothidkit.com/

All there HID's kits are only $110.. very good price.

When I order mine, I am going to get 4300k. Most Audi and VW Projector Xenons are 4300k, and I think that color is perfect and legal of course.... I am not sure how much Blue causes illegality...

I may be wrong, but I've heard before that all aftermarket HID kits are illegal in all 50 states no matter what the color temp is.

I remember a number little over 5000k from a long time ago, but not sure. Plus, i am going on vacation tomorrow, so I am taking it easyby having some beers....lol:cool: I am sure someone knows for sure and will enlighten us...

fo sheezy ur 4runner sick..

and j.l subs r real good.. i would have got tthem if i had the money

i have 2 12's pioneer with 600 xd mtx amp

I've been interested in upgrading my headlights also. Is there any truth that changing them to HID's will cause the battery/electrcial system to fail sooner than it should?

AZNK1NG,

I hope you have not ordered your HID kit yet. 2003-05 uses 9006 for both the foglight AND lowbeams. H11 are on 2006+ 4Runners with projectors for the lowbeam.

For anyone else, 2003-05 use the following bulbs: 9006 for fog and lowbeam. 9005 for highbeam. 2006+ uses 9006 for fog, H11 for lowbeam and 9005 for highbeam.

Correct, if it's not from factory it's illegal. Some argue that if you retrofit a complete HID setup, HID projector and all, it's legal because that's how the OEM would equip it as such. The underlying issue is Halogen optics (reflectors and projectors) are designed to maximize the available light (by letting out some stray light (glare)). But HIDs are three times brighter and therefore puts out three times the glare. (True HIDs have no glare because the shield is designed to block out any stray light.) Glare is what opponents are arguing over HIDs and before tried to get DOT to ban them, even OEM.

At any rate people who've retrofitted HIDs usually don't get hassled by the police because it looks perfectly stock. Those that do get stopped are usually due to excessive glare, which will happen with any plug and play setup (using HIDs with Halogen optics). There will be less glare using HIDs in a Halogen projector over reflectors, but there will still be glare and limited output.

Nope, HID's actually consume less power than halogens.

well you are probably right about that but you are less likely to get hassled for them if they are more of a 'factory' color. thats why i chose to go closer to a white, attract less atten. i dig yours they look nice but i would always be scurred driving around town with that color

and on a side note do you happen to have any pics of the lights at night?

haha you saved me... still looking around for cheapest site
