Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum, got my tr4 this winter and its time to start working on it. I have a 2005 sport edition v8 in silver. I was curious what size of rims i could put on my stock suspension so i wont scrape. Right now i have the stock 17's. Im leaning towards 20's in matte black finish. Will these be able to fit without scraping. I want some aggresive looking tires on also. Thanks

It's not really the rim size that will give you issues, more the tire size and offset of the rim.:welcome:
On wheel look it's your own preference that is most important I would say.
This is back in my 2wd low pro 20's life of my Runner.
This is my latest wheel 17 inch.

Agreed. Just check the overall diameter of the tire. A 32" will fit with no rubbing. A 32.5" will probably rub. 33" will definitely rub.
Be sure to do your homework on the offset too so you don't rub on the upper control arm.
Too actually answer the title I think 17's look the best, but I'm offroad a lot.
I like 17's with lots of rubber personally. But 18's can look ok I guess. If you plan to go offroad I wouldn't go anywhere bigger than 18's. Although if you are onroad most the time some runners with 20's look good to some. It all just depends on what YOU like. Check out the lift and tires sticky with all the pictures.

Agreed, its all personal preference... I do a bunch of wheeling and as nice as it is to have the smaller wheel to really air down the tires, I'm still rockin a 20"rim on my 35s. I definatly air down alot less with the bigger wheel, but have a very aggresive tire to make up for it. Rear air locker helps big time.
Honestly think about if you plan to put a lift in one day or not. Spacer lifts are not too much coin and easy to instal, same for a body lift. Acombination of the two can give you a solid lift to fit a 33" tire no problem.
