What Spark Plugs are you using?

I just moved back in July, still learning the area so I'm not aware of any at the moment. However, there are a couple good ones back home. I can get the OEM plugs from the dealer for $8 each, probably just going to go that route and avoid any more headaches.

That's cheaper than NAPA ($8.99 for OE Iridium Denso). Think I'll check my dealer for my Land Cruiser, it's due for plugs also.

That's CHEAP...The dealer near me wants $16.

Your other route is on-line. There are many discount places on-line that sell a lot cheaper then the dealer. And only takes about a week to ship.

Possibly worth it for iridium, shipping makes the copper ones more expensive online. I usually go local even if it's a little more expensive, but I sure wouldn't pay $16, that's just insulting.

Those are available on Partznet for that price, shipping is a little under $10. Brings them just over $9, but that'd be the same as paying sales tax on the $9 plugs lately. Where's a good online source if one didn't want to go this route?

Online, you could Google Shop "+Denso +3297". But I'm not seeing much of a good deal there, so I'll stick with someone local for not much more money.

Do you guys use anti-seize on your plugs? I mean 100K is a lot of miles on plugs, so i would like to use anti-seize. At the same time i have heard that using it cold have negative effects.

I've NEVER used anti-seize for spark plugs...and NEVER EVER had a problem.

My shop says they don't need changing at 100K

yes the book says they do need changing

my independent toyota repair shop says 120K minimum before they need changing, would not take my money to do it when it was in there for other work recently

Zinc plating is a pretty great anti-sieze, nothing else should be needed. Proper torque will prevent the horror stories so often heard of spark plugs coming loose, or breaking off while installing or removing.

I generally shy away from anti-sieze anywhere torque is critical, and I use low-strength thread locker a lot to seal threads and prevent corrosion.
