So I just finished sea foaming my 4r for the first time (all went well, nothing out of the ordinary) and as I expected based on what I have read from others, many of the dash lights came on including the engine light. So I followed protocol and disconnected the battery for about 5min or so. When I re-connected it all the lights were gone. So far so good. Then when I took it for a drive and attempted to roll my window down I noticed the auto down feature wasn't working nor auto up. Then I started checking everything. Auto sun roof not working nor did the auto rear hatch window work. Everything still opens and closes fine, but non of the auto features are working.

When I got home I once again disconnected the battery for a few minutes and also checked to see if it could be a blown fuse. I checked every fuse below the dash, no blown fuses. I re-connected the battery, auto features still disabled. ?????

I'm frustrated and out of ideas. Has anyone experienced something similar and or has any advice on how to resolve this issue? All and any help would be appreciated!

Its all normal. Everytime my trucks CEL light comes on bc the gas cap isnt tight and i reset the battery my auto windows dont work. Run them like that for a day or two and all should be back to normal.

Worked like a charm.
I'm amazed at all the little manuel resets these vehicles has. I should have known there would be a simple fix to this since i recently manually program a new spare key. I wonder how much the stealership would have tried to get out of me for that 2min. fix.

Just out of curiosity, where is this type of info (manual resets etc.) available. I manually programmed a spare key which was much more complex. Who comes up with this stuff. Is there a Toyota bible I can buy somewhere?

Team: I think your right; it's amazing how much info is shared in this forum!

It's also amazing how others will go through all the effort of replying to a post without providing an once of useful information regarding the actual topic. Is it really that hard to simply ignore someones post if it doesn't pertain to you? Sorry to stray off topic; I have just noticed lately some members seem to get a raging hard on for telling people how wrong they are without offering any help. Not all of us have the time nor the resources to sit in front of a computer all day long reading through thousands of posts in hopes that we stumble upon an answer.
 
In the future save yourself the hassle, you don't need to disconnect the battery to clear the Check Engine Light.

The fuse box in the engine bay (right next to the battery), pop the cover off and look at the diagram on the inside of the cover, remove these 2 fuses:

ETCS 10A
EFI 20A

(they are right next to each other)

There is a fuse puller included in the fuse box if you need it. Remove them for 30 seconds or more and put them back in (DO NOT MIX THEM UP).


This will save you the trouble of resetting everything.

My question was in regards to all possible manual resets and or things of that nature. The OM only has a few.
I did find the write up for all the auto resets in the owners manual. Thanks. I guess I under estimate the OM sometimes. I honestly thought that what had happened was much (didn't even think the OM was a possibility as a solution.
that's why I love this forum!!
