trash bag holder, there are some toyota bags for this. However many use doggy bags. I had the same question for along time..

Trash bag holder. There's an OEM bag made for that, something like $50 best I can remember. A regular plastic sack works good for me.

The assembly designed to quickly fall off if it's bumped to prevent it from cracking. I believe I read it in the manual.

I disagree. I've used mine with several knuckle draggers in the back. Helps out so their empty drink bottles, dip cans etc dont' end up all over the place. I just use the normal plastic bags from the grocery store. the little notches in the edge help lock the bags in place. I guess different strokes for different folks.

I agree with ^ I use it all the time. Its helps me keep my 4Runner clean inside unlike my tacoma where I usually left something and got lazy throwing it away.

I called Burtman Industries today, as coincidental as it might be, to see what the availability on these $50 holder-bags are. The guy i talked to said they would have to order it from Japan, and with the effects of the psunami still being felt, it could be 4-6 weeks. I wanted to get one for the wife, as i gave her my 03 4Runner and she uses the drivers side door pocket (where you can put a water bottle) as a trash bin. Pisses me off. A lot.

I also use the side door pocked for trash, I placed a cheap plastic cup in the door and put the trash in the cup. When I get gas (every week) I dump out the cup. For the trash bag holder, I like to use it to hold wine bottles and the 22ox Beer bottles . Place the bag inside and clip the bag handles in the trash holder slots and it works great.
