What % tint do i need to match the front 2 windows to the rest of the truck?

What % tint do i need to match the front 2 windows to the rest of the truck? i have heard its about 15% but not sure. i definitly dont want the front to be a lot darker then the rear i just want to match rather than doing the whole truck for 200 or something bucks. the front two should only be 50 with a windshield visor of 5% for when i forget the shades:thumb3: help please!

Mine is 20% and it matched just about perfectly. It's hard to judge in this picture because it's not exactly a side shot and it looks a bit lighter because the untinted windshield is behind it. But from the correct angle, it matches just about perfectly.

I don't remember, it was like 5 years ago when I first purchased my 4Runner. It's either 3M or Llumar tint, I know that for sure because my tint guy only uses those two brands. He does a fantastic job and offers lifetime warranty, so I don't mind paying a bit more. Definitely consider the 20% though because I think it really is the best match to the factory tint. One other thing--from the inside the tint will look a bit darker looking out through the glass than it does on the windows with the factory tint. I'm not sure why, but it does. So that's another reason I wouldn't want to go darker than 20%, because I wouldn't want to make it more difficult to see out of my side windows at night.

i just got my two front matching and it was 15%. He said on most of the SUV's it 15 and it looks real good. he told me if i want to go darker he said he would do the whole 4runner over for $120 but i think im gonna just leave it. the two front windows and strip was $50. he is a pretty good friend by the way thats why its so cheap

I agree that most SUVs match good with 15%. But the factory tinted glass on 4Runners is a bit lighter than most other SUVs. I've noticed that several times after following other 4Runners and noticing that I could see better through the rear glass than most other SUVs. Either way, I'm sure 15% is a good match as well. Post some pics if you have them.

thats exactly what im looking for especially to help keep the truck cooler during the summer as it gets steemin down here in south carolina and do u have a windshield visor tint??

No, I only had the two side windows tinted. The windshield is tinted along the top already on 4Runners, right? Mine came that way and I thought they all had it.

i got 20% on my driver/passenger doors. i don't recall the brand. the guy came to my house and did it in my garage and he held up several options. we picked the best match as far as darkness and color/tone. i remember the 3M being a bit more brown in color than the factory "tint" on the rear doors.

it was $85 for just the two doors. good luck!

Nothing less than 20%. If your like me you'll get it even darker within a few months.

I paid $60 for mine.

I have 20% and I think that's matching very nicely. I had 15% for a day and I did not like it too much, it had a brownish tone and it was too dark. I paid $60 for the front windows. The 15% has a nicer grayis tone and it looks much better. Husband has 15% all over his car and can't see nothing when it's getting dark. I was stopped by a state trooper with the for speeding) and did not say anything about the tint. (and no speeding ticket either). Go with the llunar, it's much better than 3M.

do u have a pic with the 15% and the guy iknow can do the front 2 and windshield for 60 so its not bad

Aftermarket tint color does not seem to match the factory tint. 20% appears to be the right shade but the color is what I cannot get to match! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
