What to do?

I finally decided to buy a front bumper and sliders for my 4runner. On friday i went to my nearest fab/offroad shop Strategic Racing designs and they quoted me 850 for both. Not bad of a price, but the only thing that consurns me is that the bumper won't be removeable because they are going to weld and modify my bumper horns and i wont be able to tweak the bumper down the road.

that is option one my other idea is to order from savage offroad which will cost me 566 for both and leaves me enough coin to order anew front skid plate that will cost me 809, but then the cost of gas to pick them up and to install the sliders since idk how to weld .

What do u guys think i should do? i Really like going the SRD way because they live 40 secs away from me, so gas isnt in issue and it will take two days. I just have to find another transportation since my truck is going to be at the shop as will because some ***hole back up into me(that's an other story).

I'd spend the money on a welder and some material and just be proud of whatever hideous contraption I came up with.

I would go with savage. I have their rear bumper and love it. Local cash pickup is no problem.

Can't your local fab shop just make the bumper bolt-on? They should be able to make and weld mounts to your frame ends, and then bolt the bumper to those.

They probably can do it, but the bumper they build me is a tube race bumper that u find on there prerunner /trophy truck

Why not just have the local company build you the sliders and buy the Savage so it's bolt on. Or buy both Savage and have your local shop weld it?

That's was my third option but I didn't want my oh post to be long. That's the route in thinking sliders from local and bumper from savage and I still have enough for new skids

Gas or no gas, all that stuff is still going to cost you quite a bit. If you're going to spend that much money anyway, make sure you go with what you want . You don't wanna go with a second choice to save $50 or so then regret it for the next several years.

It'd be worth checking with Savage as well if you're buying a bumper, sliders, and skid plates. They might give you 10% off or something which would make up for the gas.
