What type of Grease?

Hey guys,
I appologize for probably asking a reocurring quesiton but I can't find the answer anywhere. What type of grease on our 4th gen's do we use on the drive shafts (zerk fittings?). I downloaded the owner's manual but its tough to find anything in there.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Moly for sliders and No2GL Lithium based for spiders.

I think what <<<< said is the correct recommendation from Toyota but from what I've seen the majority of people actually use Mobil 1 synthetic for the drive shaft zerk fittings. That's what I've been using and I've had no problems thus far.

Can you use Moly everywhere? or the Mobil 1 synthetic?
If i do use the moly everywhere or Mobil 1, do i need to take the fittings apart and clean them all first or are the Lubes cross compatible?

I can tell you I didn't clean out the drive shaft before I put the Mobil 1 in there. I'm not sure how much of the original grease (if any) was left in there.

for the past 2 years i have been using Castrol Synthetic and have noticed a reduction in the "driveshaft thunk"

The reason that Moly is recommended for the slip yoke is because a Moly grease is considered an extreme pressure grease, which works better and lasts longer for the slip yoke. The u-joints are better served using a litium or synthetic grease. You could use either of them in the slip yoke, but it won't last as long or work as well at getting rid of the "clunk".

I have been using this in the grease gun tube form for 9 years and never had the driveshaft thunk. Valvoline.com > Products > Grease Gear Oil > Grease > Valvoline® Multi-Purpose Grease /GM I use it on all the fittings on the driveshafts.

You could. Moly is much thicker and wont spread or disperse as well which is why a multi purpose grease is recommended in the other areas. I think they just state the best for a particular application. Kind of like paint. . . .some types work better than others depending on what is being painted, but does not always mean the others wont work.
