What was your first mod/alteration after buying your 4R?

I put the Lithium starter battery from my old/sold 3rd Gen into the 5th gen under the seat... but since that's not really a first mod...

1) I removed the TRD Off Road badges on the C pillars. Btw, haven't seen anyone mention this, but they actually come from the factory slightly bent/askew.

2) Kicker tweeters swap into the dash.

3) Lots of adventure stickers.

Started with wiring in garage door opener to AOB switch in the overhead.

Caught the bug and since:
Dual Battery
Relay Fuse box
under hood lights
Rear lights in rear door handles
Fridge
On Board hot water
On Board battery charger for house battery
Wireless phone charger
always on outlets

My first mod on my 2019 4Runner was the OEM console safe. Smash and grab is an olympic sport these days, so this safe is handy for short term security. I bought this one because you can leave it unlocked until you want to lock it. Three digit combo lock isn't that secure, but is very handy. Just need to slow them down a little.

Well made and comes in at over 13 lbs.

I liked the overall fit of the safe too.

Props to Southeast Region Toyota for a good job.

My first mods were:

a console organizer, some CupHolderHero liners with the red trim and my current favorite install, the VLED 5500 kelvin colored interior lights and puddle and license plate lights. That's stage one on the lighting overhaul. Stage 2 will be Diode Dynamics Tail-as-turn mod with the XP80 and XP50 reverse and white tail lights for more reverse light. Stage 3 will be the Xenon Depot Xtreme Pro LED low and high beam bulbs with the Morimoto XB projector fogs.

...yeah, I've caught the bug...

Love them. They are a pain to put on since they fit pretty tightly. I took my time however and did basically one seat/section at a time over a few days. Only compliant I have about the install was the front passenger nylon tie-down strap was about 2 inches two short. It took a Herculean effort involving vise grips to get it looped together.

I’ve had a few comments from passengers saying they didn’t even realize they were covers until I told them.

There’s usually a $100 discount code on Tacomaworld as well.

First Modifications to my 2016 was a TRD CAI, TRD Cat Back Exhaust and SR5 Emblem Blackout Kit. Tomorrow my 2010-2019 Toyota 4Runner All Black-Out Facelift 2014+ Style LED Tail Lights should arrive assuming the FedEx information is correct. The chrome on the tail lights just bugs me. Then all I have to do is get ride of the silver-colored roof rack with maybe a Toyota TRD PT278-89190 roof rack if it fits my 4 Runner.
