What would be a fair price?

I am tossing the idea around of selling my rig as I am just not happy with the way it tows and the size for trips. With 2 dogs and gear for a long weekend I don't have much space left and with kids planned in the near future that will be even more of a problem.
So I am thinking of moving into a sequoia so I can tow the boat and travel trailer and have plenty of room.

So what do you all think is a fair price for my rig? everything that I have done has about 8,000 miles on it right now.

1999 4runner limited W/ 141,000 miles

I glanced at your build, looks nice. Did you swap a new motor in? I saw you had the unfortunate discovery of finding a rolled back odometer so I am wondering about your 141k.

For reference, and maybe I overpaid, but I shopped for 8 months out of Corvallis and the surrounding Willamette area and a clean 99 limited with 141k stock should easily fetch 8-9k. I paid 9k for a 2000 limited with 155k, family owned rig that spent its life in Albany, OR.

You see them go for half that in other parts of the country, but there is a serious premium out here and being able to turn every bolt on a 17 year old rig without rust is so very nice.

Of course, that doesn't give you more cargo room. Have you though about a roof rack for more storage space? Every person I've ever known who has had a 3rd gen 4Runner and sold it regrets it. I went to the Nissan dealership the other day for my wife's car and the salesman wanted me to show him my 4Runner, he used to have one and wished he still had it. And hadn't seen a supercharged one before.

Edit: never mind saw your build, you already have a roof rack. That's a very built 4Runner. Are you looking to swap just for more space, or it is more that you want a new project?

I am looking to swap for more space and to be able to tow my travel trailer and boat easier. I pulled my military trailer on my hunting trip and was around 3,000lbs and it was pathetic trying to get up any sort of hill. The boat and travel trailer both weigh about 4500lbs.

Tundra Brake Upgrade plus supercharger would make towing a breeze, I'm pushing 275 HP at the crank on my 4runner right now and rising. But you can't add space unfortunately... so I can understand that. When we hit kid #3 I need to find a solution, I'm thinking a 4th gen that has 3rd row seats. Or a Land Cruiser...

I've only towed small stuff, so I have no experience with heavy loads. I'm hoping someone else who has can chime in. One thing that's great about the 5VZ-FE is that torque rises as much as HP in these engines.

well, you have a lot going for your rig, tbh.

icon lift, PNW, low miles. You should be able to get almost $10k IMO.

I would check out craigslist and see what local rigs are selling for.

Location will also be a factor. If you're in or close to say Portland, you should be able to get a bit more money than if you're out in a more secluded rural area.
