What would you do?

So I had the Cooper ST Maxx tires installed this weekend on my new 2014 TE, and I love the look, but I hate the 2 scratches that the installer knicked into two of my wheels... they aren't huge or noticeable from a foot away from the truck, but I am meticulous about my vehicles... and am pretty pissed that the scratches are already there... i know they'll get banged up down the road too... so my questions is what would you do?

Would you demand the TE wheels be replaced since it's a brand spanking new T4R?

Or

Would you take the offer from the store manager to refund you all of the $ you spent on the tires, warranty, etc. (roughly $800), and still warranty the tires etc.?? And use that $ elsewhere and live with the scratches???

You should take the money and buy new wheels that you absolutely love and then give the scratched up, good for nothing, useless, ugly wheels to a fellow member like Ducmonsta!!! I bet he'll even pay for shipping and the labor to install the new wheels!

Take the deal. If it still kills you later, buy some takeoffs on here for half that much.

I think that offer of giving you all your $$ back is pretty darn generous already, I think you should be reasonable and accept that, regardless of how scratched it is

Paying too close attention to your brand new vehicle is a bad thing, it's bound to get scratches, dents and dings eventually...unless of course you don't plan to drive it.

Look at it this way, your truck is now broken in (baby got it's first scratch). Now that that's out of the way, the other scratches should come easier.

take the money, give it a few months and I'll bet you can get very lightly used/or even new trail rims for far under 800 and then sell your scratched ones for a bit.

I'd take the money and run. I had a similar issue when I put aftermarkets on. They guys at the shop put a huge deep scrape in the center cap of the brand new wheel. They ordered a new cap for me and comp'd the warranty package. I thought I was getting a great deal. That 800 will go a long way down the road once you have forgotten those scratches. I totally get the wanting everything new and perfect but IMO they are taking good care of you.

They may deny they did and tell you to get bent.

Talked with the Mgr again, and yes, he offered to reimburse me the $800 instead of replacing the wheels. I was all for it, but my better half was pissed off since it is brand new and she wanted me to get new wheels. Told him it was a huge inconvenience etc. etc. so on top of the reimbursement, he is also going to mount new tires on my CTS-V in the Spring free of charge (Michelin PS2s... I already have them sitting at home). So I took the offer... Can't really beat free tires! So my stocker Bridgestone Dueler HTs are up for grabs. PM me.

DucMonsta, wish you were still in the area to check out your rig. Looks Killer! I actually really like the stock TE wheels and plan on keeping them. If I change my mind you'll be the first to know. I'm probalby just going to powdercoat them black anyways to match the blacked out CTS-V. Also talked with Scott at High-Tech the other day about possible lift options...

I uploaded pics of the scratches on the wheels, but my camera phone can really suck sometimes and this is as clear as it is for now. I know it's hard to notice, but I know the scratches are there. Ohh well, now onto looking for my next mod, lol...

I've had a couple of flats and my wheels are scratched to shit.

It's your truck and your money, but I'd get over it. My truck is so banged up from use after a year it's a win if I can get the salt rinsed off of it after a blizzard.
