Hack. Hardest part was finding a single piece of tape big enough. FYI, if I had it to do over again, I'd leave the center-outer loop un-taped, so that you could loop a strap in there (without damaging it) in an emergency.

it always surprises me how little regard some people have for the safety of other drivers. far too many here celebrating how much damage their hitches are capable of doing in a rear-ender situation. a lot of municipalities have actually made it illegal to drive with a hitch installed if you are not actively pulling something.

I have total regard for others safety, especially ingrained as a motorcycle rider.

Some one rams me from behind, it is 99% likely their fault (or maybe the guy that punted them into me).

My vehicle gets slammed, I could be out my deductible if it turns in to a he said this, and I say that. At a minimum I am dealing with a couple weeks hassle of dealing with a body shop and insurance.

In the end, if someone truly gets hurt that fact that I left the ball in is not gonna make a difference....they hit the receiver and hitch in 4 more inches.

I'm gonna leave mine in, thank you.

But I can't get it in the freaking hitch!! It says it's for all 2" receivers. Maybe the black paint is making it too thick??

Any suggestions? If I grease it up with something will it go in? :yo:
